‘The Voice’: Why Gwen and Blake’s Romance Will Increase Fighting on the Show

With Gwen Stefani coaching The Voice again we’re worried for Blake Shelton’s ego a little bit. Gwen has shared that she is ready to ‘bring it’ as far as the competition goes, and she certainly has a distinct advantage.

Her relationship with Blake is going to be good ammunition to increase fighting on the show which is going to make this season super fun to watch.

Stefani isn’t new to the competition. She has coached in three previous seasons and this time, she’s ready to bring her A-game. Although the singer hasn’t had a winning contestant yet, she’s feeling strongly that this is her time to shine.

Stefani has mentioned that she and Shelton have already been discussing how they are going to tackle their strategies for winning.

A lot of their conversations happen at home. They’ve started to “have pillow talk and we’re discussing (the strategy),” she explained, “He’s like, ‘It’s still gotta be competition,’ and I was like, ‘You got it.'”

Stefani isn’t going to let fans down, she’s in it to win it.

The trash-talking has already started

Stefani is already promoting her team and is intensely competitive. She’s been sure to let Blake Shelton know that even though she loves him, she intends to win this season.

In a recent teaser trailer promoting the September premiere of this season’s The Voice, Stefani can be seen blocking her boyfriend from participating and dancing in celebration.

Shelton quips, “Why are you doing this to me? I thought you loved me.” Although she apologizes with a sweet hug, you can tell by her smile she’s not about to let him off the hook.

Will the girls team up against the boys too?

Stefani also has been spotted encouraging competitors to join her team by offering them some new team swag. Both she and Kelly Clarkson appear to be handing out favors to their team in the form of fancy jackets and team clothing.

Clarkson even goes so far as to say: “Its the blondes against the bros, y’all.” It looks like the good-natured fighting is going to go beyond the romance of Shelton and Stefani to include some old fashioned boys vs. girls action.

Coaches are just as excited for the contest as the fans are

John Legend tells viewers that he’s pretty pumped to witness the Shelton and Stefani throw down. Their relationship will certainly increase the competition on the show.

Legend explains that he can’t wait to see them fight it out on the live performances. “I’m very excited to see America’s favorite couple fight it out,” he said.

Legend isn’t the only coach who is thrilled with Shelton and Stefani’s dynamic. His long-time friend Clarkson, couldn’t help but tease him too. She is seen telling Blake that he would certainly not be getting any cuddles from his girlfriend.

Time will tell if all is fair in love and war

Although Shelton and Stefani seem excited about being on The Voice together, it might be a little tough on their relationship. But, according to People, they are pretty happy being back on the set where they first fell in love and being back seems to be really fun for them.

Stefani has told reporters how excited she is to be working with Shelton. “But it’s going to be fun, it’s going to be exciting. I mean, Blake’s my best friend, so I get to hang out with him at work,” the singer said. “I wanted to come back so bad. I mean, the show is so fun.”

Although, Shelton worries he’s might have to hurt some feelings if he’s going to win this season. “I’m glad that she’s already feeling competitive. Of course, I’m not going to let her win. I’m going to have to win, but I’m going to have to do it in a way that she doesn’t feel like I beat her,” Shelton explained.

Their relationship is going to add a level of fun and fighting that this show has never seen.
