The Young and the Restless: Kristoff St. John’s Last Episode to Air
Fans and colleagues continue to mourn the sudden passing of The Young and the Restless star Kristoff St. John. The actor was found dead in his California home on February 3, 2019, at the age of 52. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, he died from a possible alcohol overdose. TMZ reports the actor’s body was discovered after one of his friends went to check on him at his home.
St. John was filming the CBS daytime drama up to the time he was found at his home. His final posthumous appearance is expected to air Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019.
Kristoff St. John struggled with depression
Before St. John was found dead, he reportedly struggled to manage depression. A source close to Kristoff told TMZ the actor had checked himself into UCLA Medical Center in January for depression and had just been released a few days before his death. It is believed St. John’s depression was partly linked to his son Julian’s suicide at the age of 24 on November 23, 2014. Julian reportedly struggled with addiction and mental illness. St. John leaves behind his fiancée, Kseniya Mikhaleva, and his daughters Paris and Lola St. John.
On Jan. 21, 2019, St. John retweeted a post about losing a child that said, “Grieving the loss of a child is a process. It begins on the day your child passes, and ends the day the parent joins them,” reports People. St. John retweeted and then posted the message, “Never a truer word was spoke.”

Kristoff’s fiancé had a hard time processing the news. She shared her feelings of shock and disbelief. “How did it happen??? How??? Why did you leave so early????” she wrote on Instagram. “And left me alone ….. I can’t believe … you were everything to me …. you were a loving father, a loving man,…..how …love?? We should doing a lot of things in future…….”
Actress Vivica A. Fox also left a message on Instagram to reflect on her work with the actor. She posted a photo of them and wrote about working with St. John when she first began acting.

St. John made his acting debut in an episode of the 1975 television show That’s My Mama. After that, he appeared in a 1976 episode of the TV show Happy Days. Other acting credits include Wonder Woman, Bad News Bears, The Cosby Show, and The Jamie Foxx Show.
