Julie Montagu tells Markle to keep her positive attitude
Someone who can really relate to Markle because she was in her same position as an American marrying into British aristocracy is Julie Montagu. The Illinois native married Luke Montagu, Viscount Hinchingbrooke, in 2001 after they too were set up by a mutual friend.
Montagu shared this important advice for Markle.
The biggest piece of advice I would give Meghan … stay American. Keep your American roots, keep your American accent … Don’t let the weather bring you down. It’s easy to do. And still have that high energy because that is what … I really feel that the English love about Americans. Our optimism, our energy, our go-getting attitude. And the cup is always half-full for us … Keep that and stay rooted in your American traditions and culture.
