This Is How Meghan Markle Helped Prince Harry Become a Better Person
Meghan Markle is a good influence on Prince Harry. Before the pair got married, the Duke of Sussex had quite a few bad habits, but his now-wife has helped him stop those and the two are committed to living a healthy lifestyle.
Here’s more on those unhealthy habits Harry had and how Markle got him kick them as well the other positive influence she had on him to repair his relationship with one of his family members (page 7).
Harry’s no longer a big partier
- No more partying
In the past, the prince was known for his party ways, but all that changed when he met Markle as she wanted him to be more health conscious like she is.
“Meghan encouraged Harry to get rid of any remnants of his party lifestyle,” a source told People. “She wanted him to get in shape and be healthy.”
Next: That meant giving up this terrible habit.
He also stopped smoking
- No more cigarettes
Another thing Harry gave up for his lady is smoking. The former actress hates cigarettes, so he ditched his nicotine habit as well.
The Daily Mail previously reported that the prince “promised no smoking at all at home. It’s not nice for Meghan as a non-smoker. So, there’s no more hanging out of the window for a quick puff. Harry has quit for Meghan.”
Next: His friends had a laugh about how he got into shape.
He exercised with a trainer
- No more lounging
The prince started exercising with a trainer located in central London and got into a daily morning routine. He even showed an interest in yoga. Katie Nicholl wrote in her book Harry: Life, Loss, and Love that some of his buddies found that amusing — however, they then realized that Markle is a yoga devotee.
“We all ribbed him a bit because he suddenly got super healthy. It was obviously dating Meghan that kicked off his health drive,” a friend of Harry’s said.
Next: Bye, bye carbs
He started working with a nutritionist
- No more carbs
Markle is a very healthy eater and follows a semi-vegan diet, so she made sure her man ate as clean as possible too. The prince began eating quinoa and kale and working with Gabriela Peacock, who is a nutritional adviser to the royal family and founder of GP Nutrition.
Harry really enjoys her “Clean Me” supplements for immune system support and healthier skin.
Next: Markle removed all of these.
Markle cleared out Harry’s kitchen when she moved in
- No more processed foods
Just to make sure Harry was all in, one of the first things the former actress did when she moved into what was then Harry’s bachelor pad at Nottingham Cottage was get rid of all the junk food. She went through his pantry and fridge and tossed away all the processed food.
A source told the Daily Mail that “Meghan has completely changed Harry’s diet.” The prince traded in those high-calorie snacks for green juice and fruit smoothies.
Next: Harry got very fit for this day.
He’s in tip-top shape now
- No more vices
All of Markle’s help and Harry’s efforts have certainly paid off as the prince was in possibly the best shape of his life on their wedding day.
“Meghan is a beautiful influence on Harry. They both worked hard to be the healthiest they could be before they got married,” a royal insider explained to People. “They both felt amazing leading up to the wedding. And he couldn’t have done it without her support.”
Next: Markle helped her hubby repair his relationship with another prince.
Markle helped Harry and Prince Charles repair their relationship
- No more hard feelings
Many have speculated over the years that Princes William and Harry had, at times, a strained relationship with their father, Prince Charles, but Markle reportedly helped Harry move past that.
“Meghan met Charles and was bowled over by his charm,” a family source told the Daily Mail. “She told Harry he was wonderful: welcoming, warm, hard-working kind and stable … She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more.”
Charles was so touched by her words and has expressed nothing but high praise for the now-duchess which is something that has made Harry very happy and brought them closer together.
