There are various kinds of nighttime routines. Some couples make it a priority to have dinner together every night. Some brush their teeth and shower together. And others unplug from their devices and power down.
When it comes to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, the famous couple likes to pillow talk, but not in the traditional sense of the term. The Yeezy designer told Forbes in a July 2019 cover story that he and his wife talk about their respective business ventures — while she watches police procedurals. Romantic.
Inside their “bedtime true-crime story meetings”
West said that during their “bedtime true-crime story meetings,” he and Kardashian trade ideas on everything from the rapper’s ever-popular Yeezy brand to the beauty mogul’s creative efforts.
Kardashian told the publication that she sought her husband’s advice on several things, including her Kim Kardashian: Hollywood mobile game and her new shapewear line. She noted that he taught her to “never compromise and to really take ownership.”
“Before, I was really the opposite,” the 38-year-old explained to Forbes. “I would throw my name on anything. … He pushes people to do their best and pushes people even outside of their comfort zone, which really helps people grow.”
Their kids keep them busy, too
Kardashian and West welcomed their fourth child, Psalm, back in May. They’re also parents to Chicago, 17 months, Saint, 3, and North, 6.
A source told People in May that Kardashian and West were initially intimidated by having such a large family, but that they “have really found a way” to work as a team, with “everything falling into place for them.”
“There were definitely points where Kim was nervous — four kids is a lot!” the source said. “But she’s so happy and loves seeing all the kids interacting. Kanye is so happy to have a big family.”
The source added that Kimye has finally created a schedule to help balance their work lives with parenting. “When Kim is working out, Kanye is with the kids and vice versa,” the source said. “[Kanye is] very close with North in particular. And whenever he isn’t traveling or in the studio, he likes to do school drop-offs.”
Will they have more kids?
There are some signs that they’re done expanding their family.
For starters, Kardashian appeared to rule out the possibility in an April 2018 interview with Elle. “I don’t think I could handle more than [four]. My time is spread really thin,” the reality star, who recently began studying to become a lawyer, divulged. “And I think it’s important that in all couples, the mom gives the husband as much attention as the kids.”
A source echoed those comments to People, telling the publication, “She likely won’t have any more after this.”
It appears that the “All Mine” rapper hasn’t commented on the matter publicly. However, he sent his wife a text after Psalm’s arrival that said, “We have everything we need,” which seemed to imply that they’re stopping at four kids.
It looks like they’ll instead focus on the way their lives are now. And they’ll have those “bedtime true-crime story meetings” in between.
