This Is The One Thing ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Queer Eye’ Have In Common
Since many have already binged the entire season, some might have noticed a familiar face from another hit show.
As it turns out, Stranger Things had their very own crossover with another hit Netflix show and this cameo was something none of us saw coming.
A familiar face on Stranger Things rose to fame on Queer Eye
For anyone who has been an avid watcher of Queer Eye, you might be familiar with the name William Mahnken.
On Season 2 of the hit series, Mahnken received help from the Fab Five as he was trying to get his life back on track and find the courage to propose to his then-girlfriend Shannan.
On Queer Eye, Mahnken was known as the Season 2 “hero” with his sensitive and romantic personality that made him a fan-favorite.
Since getting the Fab Five treatment, William Mahnken has been doing well, according to his Instagram.
Just last year, he and Shannan got married and even took a trip to Kansas City to visit a few Queer Eye Season 3 heroes.
Though many would have never taken Mahnken as the type to become an actor, he proved all of us wrong and even landed the ultimate acting gig by appearing in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things.
Mahnken’s Stranger Things character is the complete opposite of him
This past year has been pretty eventful for William Mahnken.
Aside from marrying the love of his life, Mahnken also landed a role in the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things.
Though many might have missed him at first, Mahnken can be spotted in the first episode of Season 3, where he plays a less lovable character.
The Queer Eye fan-favorite plays one of Nancy’s nameless, sexist coworkers at The Hawkins Post who laughs at her idea for an article on how the Starcourt Mall is destroying downtown commerce.
William Mahnken is spotted once again in the second episode with his real-life wife Shannan by his side as they dined in the same restaurant Chief Hopper was waiting in to have a date with Joyce Byers.
Even though many of us only noticed Mahnken in the first two episodes, he teased on Twitter that he appears throughout the entire season.
“I can be found 9 times in @Stranger_Things. Can you find them all? #challenge,” he wrote.
So far, we’ve only counted four but we refuse to back down from a challenge.
Even though none of us would have thought of a Stranger Things and Queer Eye crossover ever happening, we are so happy it did.
And who knows, at the rate William Mahnken is going, maybe he will make another cameo in Season 4?
