This Is Why Prince William Had Doubts About Meghan Markle

There are rumors that a feud is brewing between our favorite British Royals. Prince William and Prince Harry have been very close their entire lives; however, in the past two years, their relationship has begun to fracture. Apparently, the Windsor men’s relationship first took a hit when Prince Harry started to get serious about Duchess Meghan Markle. Though the prince’s older brother, Prince William doesn’t have any personal issues against the former actress, he did have some doubts about her in general.

As one can imagine, Prince Harry is no fan of anyone questioning his wife or his marriage and it’s caused quite a bit of tension between himself and his big brother. This is why Prince William had doubts about his sister-in-law.

Questioning Meghan’s intentions

Apparently, the brothers’ relationship has not been quite the same since Markle’s first visit to Kensington Palace back in 2016. After the meeting the Suits alum, Prince William cautioned his brother to take things slow since they didn’t really know Markle’s background or her intentions. Though many of us see this as a friendly word of caution, Prince Harry did not see things that way. According to Daily Mail, “Harry went mental and accused his brother of trying to finish their relationship before it had started.”

An opinionated lady

Markle is very opinionated and straightforward, which is not something the Windsors are accustomed to, especially from an outsider. As a result, the Duchess of Sussex has ruffled more than a few feathers since she took of residence at Kensington Palace. With her 5:00 am wake-up calls and her continuous stream of ideas, the royal staff has had trouble keeping up. However, because she’s literally given up her life for him, Prince Harry is determined that his wife gets whatever her heart desires.

A royal insider told The Daily Mail, “Meghan is quite opinionated and an acquired taste.” They’ve also said, “Harry has become dictatorial in his demands that Meghan be given whatever she wants, and this has caused problems between the brothers.

A Christmas blow up

Markle spent her first Christmas with the Windsors in 2017 — it was unprecedented since she and the prince were only engaged at the time. Unfortunately, it wasn’t exactly a festive affair. Katie Nicholl reported in Vanity Fair, “Harry felt William wasn’t rolling out the red carpet for Meghan and told him so/ They had a bit of a fallout, which was only resolved when [their dad Prince] Charles stepped in and asked William to make an effort. That’s when the Cambridges invited the Sussexes to spend Christmas with them.”

Overly protective of his wife

From the moment he issued his formal letter to the press in 2016, demanding that the media leave Markle alone, it was clear that the red-headed Prince was willing to do anything for his wife. Like any spouse, he feels very protective of the pregnant duchess. However, Prince Harry has taken it to another level. A Palace insider told The Sun, “It’s my opinion that Harry feels he couldn’t protect his mother, so he’s going all out to protect his wife. This is his way of atoning. He will brook absolutely no criticism of Meghan — and he is so sensitive he often sees criticism or negativity where there isn’t any.”

It looks like Prince William is just trying to protect his little brother and Prince Harry is just trying to protect his wife, and they need a nice long sit down to get things back on the right track.
