This Member of Meghan Markle’s Family is Making Millions off of Baby Archie!
We don’t always get to choose our family members. And for some people, the luck of the draw isn’t very forgiving when it comes to relatives. Meghan Markle, for example, has had a particularly rough time with certain members of her family, like her father and half-sister, since she became royal.
As if being a famous actress weren’t enough, Markle took her stardom to a new level when she married Prince Harry last year. And if her former wealth and notoriety didn’t make her estranged family members want to reconnect with her, her new royal status certainly did.
But it’s not just her father who is now benefiting off of Markle. Apparently, her nephew is racking in more than anyone could ever imagine from his royal auntie.
How is Markle’s nephew making money off of her?
Markle has a few half siblings from her father, Thomas Markle. Her half brother Thomas Markle Jr. has two sons, Tyler Dooley and TJ Dooley.
Tyler has taken his aunt’s newfound fame and used it to his advantage. He has become a pioneer in the legal marijuana industry in the United States.
“We are passionate about marijuana and all the good things it brings,” Tyler told the Daily Mail last year.
Ahead of Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry, Tyler released a special strain of the marijuana called Markle Sparkle. Since the release of his Markle Sparkle strain, Tyler has become a millionaire according to German outlet Bild.de.
Is Tyler making money off of Archie too?
Since Markle Sparkle did so well, Tyler has decided to expand his brand to include other members of Markle’s royal family. His newest strain is called the Archie Sparkle and sells for 254 euros per 28g. The brand is expected to turn over 180 million euros just this year alone.
Markle’s relationship with her dad
Markle’s trouble with her family all really started with her dad. The strained relationship became public when her father began staging paparazzi photos and did not attend her wedding.
But even still, Markle was willing to let bygones be bygones.
“She was willing to forgive him,” a close friend of Markle’s told ET. “She kept on reassuring him she loved him. She was hearing about her father’s condition, his heart attack, through the tabloids. After the wedding, she wrote a letter to her dad about wanting to repair the relationship.”
“After the wedding, she wrote him a letter,” another friend of Markle’s told People. “She’s like, ‘Dad, I’m so heartbroken. I love you. I have one father. Please stop victimizing me through the media so we can repair our relationship.’ Because every time her team has to come to her and fact-check something [he has said], it’s an arrow to the heart. He writes her a really long letter in return, and he closes it by requesting a photo op with her. And she feels like, ‘That’s the opposite of what I’m saying. I’m telling you I don’t want to communicate through the media, and you’re asking me to communicate through the media. Did you hear anything I said?’ It’s almost like they’re ships passing.'”
But the relationship still remains rocky to this day and Thomas has yet to meet his grandson, Archie.
