This Small Clue Proves Meghan Markle Didn’t Secretly Give Birth to Baby Sussex Yet

There’s been some speculation that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle already had their baby and are just waiting to announce it to the world. Eagle-eyed fans noticed a small clue, however, that Baby Sussex hasn’t yet arrived.

Did Meghan Markle already give birth?

Since Markle’s due date seemed to be fast approaching and because the palace released a statement that the couple would be maintaining their privacy when the baby arrived, many royal baby watchers believed Markle already gave birth.

The official statement from Buckingham Palace noted: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby. Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

Given that they wanted to keep the details under wraps, some fans wondered if Markle gave birth and the couple has just been taking their time with making an official announcement.

Markle was absent from the Easter Sunday church service

The fact that Markle didn’t attend the Easter Sunday church service on the Queen’s birthday seemed to also support the idea that perhaps she had the baby already and was at home as a new mom. Prince Harry attended solo while it was reported that Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, had made her way to the UK to support her daughter.

There was a lot of supporting evidence that Markle might have given birth, but a recent Instagram comment from Prince Harry and Markle seemed to clear things up.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wish Prince Louis a happy birthday

Prince Louis turned 1 this week and some beautiful portraits taken by Kate Middleton were posted to the royal Instagram accounts to mark the occasion. Prince Harry and Markle left a comment on the photos posted on Instagram and that’s when fans picked up on a clue that Baby Sussex has not yet arrived.

The couple left this comment using their official Instagram account Sussex Royal: “Happy Birthday Louis! Sending lots of love from both of us.”

The key in this very short and sweet birthday message is “both of us,” as there’s no reference to a third family member, a la “the three of us” or “all of us.”

Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle having a boy or a girl?

Royal baby watchers have been hoping for any bit of information about Baby Sussex and have come up pretty empty handed on that front. Prince Harry and Markle decided to keep the baby’s gender a secret, which the duchess revealed in February. When a guest at the Endeavor Fund Awards asked if they are having a boy or a girl, Markle explained: “We don’t know. Yes, we decided to keep it a secret.”

She added: “That way we’ll have something… And it’s one of those things, like, no matter what it is, it’s still going to be a surprise.”
