This ‘Southern Charm’ Star Claims Austen Kroll Isn’t Trustworthy
The boys of Southern Charm have been getting on each other’s nerves — or so it seems based on the events of the recent finale. Craig Conover and Shep Rose got themselves in hot water with Austen Kroll over a prank in poor taste at Patricia Altschul’s cocktail party.
Now, with Kroll and Rose seemingly on the outs as friends, Craig Conover is ready to dish on Kroll and his trustworthiness when it comes to Southern Charm.
The cocktail party debacle
Last year, Southern Charm’s Austen Kroll and Madison LeCroy were caught in the middle of some incredible infidelity drama. Kroll was caught red-handed by LeCroy after two women spent the night at his place. One of the women caught the entire encounter on video.
While Kroll and even one of the women claimed that they did not actually sleep together, Madison LeCroy was understandably angry. The couple broke up, though they do seem to have found their way back together.
Shep Rose and Craig Conover, meanwhile, have never been fans of LeCroy’s relationship with Kroll. Rose decided it would be a humorous and scathing prank if they were to bring Kroll’s mystery women as dates. Naturally, Kroll was mortified and angry.
Kroll told Rose, “This friendship is in total ruins. Don’t let the door hit you, pal.”
It seemed as if Conover realized what a mistake he’d made as well. He extricated himself from the situation, and when Rose approached, Conover said, “I didn’t know this was all a ploy for your inferiority complex.”
Kroll is disappointed in fellow cast members
Kroll seems to be frustrated with how some of his castmates represent themselves on Southern Charm.
In an interview with The Daily Dish, Kroll said, “I just think that lots of people have lots of things to say, including myself. Every year on the reunion, the question gets asked, what are you most nervous about? And I’m like, I’m nervous to get called on my s***. Well, what are you most excited about? I’m nervous to call people on their s***.”
Kroll went on to add, “I’ve been through a lot this season and it only gets worse. Not everyone can say that and that’s OK. I mean, if your life is great and you’re not going through some s***, then that’s great. I’m envious of you. But if you are going through some s*** and it’s not on camera and you’re on this show, that just disappoints me.”
It sounds as if Kroll might be ready to confront Rose about how he portrays himself on the show — though perhaps there are other castmates in his crosshairs.
Conover says Kroll isn’t trustworthy
Meanwhile, Craig Conover believes his Southern Charm friend isn’t to be trusted with valuable information. According to Conover, Kroll keeps secrets about as well as a sieve holds water.
“Just based on this season, it would have to be Austen, because he tells Madison everything. So we have to be very careful what we tell Austen because he will tell Madison whatever we tell him. Shep and I can tell each other something but we both know either of us will tell Cam But yeah I think Austen would be the one who’s gonna spill the secrets,” Crag Conover said on the Domenick Nati Show.
Perhaps some more of these truths will come out during the Southern Charm Season 6 reunion episode.
