Thomas Markle Threatens to Take Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to Court
Thomas Markle has declared war on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. In a new interview, he threatened to take his daughter and son-in-law to court. Let’s take a look at why the elder Markle is making these threats, and if he will succeed in his efforts.
Thomas Markle wants to see Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s children
In an exclusive interview with Fox News, Thomas Markle revealed that he hasn’t yet seen his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet. And he said he will take Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to court if he has to.
“I will be petitioning the California courts for the rights to see my grandchildren in the very near future,” he said.
Thomas Markle also addressed Queen Elizabeth in his interview. “Archie and Lili are small children. And they’re also royal and entitled to the same rights as any other royal,” he said.
Thus far, he hasn’t been able to do so
Thomas Markle and Meghan Markle have been estranged since 2018. Part of their estrangement, according to the Daily Mail, has to do with a deal he made with the paparazzi. At the time, the elder Markle provided exclusive photos to the tabloids in exchange for money.
He hasn’t spoken to his daughter since then. He also has never met his son-in-law, Prince Harry. And it seems unlikely he will ever meet his grandchildren.
“The biggest problem here is she’s pretty much ghosted all of her family,” he said to ITV, per the Mail. “‘The bottom line is she didn’t lose me, she made a statement saying she lost me, she didn’t lose me, I would’ve always been there for her, I’m there for her now if she wants me.”
Will his efforts work?
Based on what Meghan Markle has said to Oprah Winfrey, it seems highly unlikely that she will ever forgive Thomas Markle for his bad behavior.
In her sit-down interview with the media mogul, and with Prince Harry by her side, the Duchess of Sussex said her father caused her deliberate pain.
“I said, ‘I just need you to tell me and if you tell me the truth we can help’. And he wasn’t able to do that,” she said. “I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child, so it’s hard for me to reconcile that.”
