T.I. Just Made Us Very Concerned for His Kids on This Podcast
Rapper, T.I. has been causing controversy for a number of years. From his often problematic podcast to his flagrant disrespect for his wife, he has been in headlines consistently. But recently, T.I. managed to one-up even his own ignorance when he appeared on the Ladies Like Us podcast. The rapper’s parenting skills are now being called into question because he openly admitted to going to the gynecologist with his daughter to “make sure her hymen is intact.”
T.I. accompanies his daughter to the doctor to check her hymen
On the podcast, the “Whatever You Like” rapper spoke at length about parenting. He shared that it’s a parent’s responsibility to protect their children from damaging themselves. Citing his own daughter, Deyjah Harris, who is 18 years old, T.I. openly shared how he grossly invades her privacy to ensure she is still a virgin. “Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen,” the rapper disgustingly confessed.
A gross invasion of privacy
To make matters worse, T.I. also openly admitted to coercing his daughter into letting him be privy to her personal and private medical information despite her reaching the legal age of adulthood. “So we’ll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk and the doctor’s maintaining a high level of professionalism. He’s like, ‘You know sir, I have to, in order to share information’—I’m like, ‘Deyjah they want you to sign this so we can share information. Is there anything you wouldn’t want me to know? See doc? No problem,’” the rapper shared with the podcast cohosts.
Of course, a hymen being broken certainly doesn’t mean someone isn’t still a virgin. But, T.I. foolishly addressed this also. “And so then they come and say, ‘Well I just want you to know that there are other ways besides sex that the hymen can be broken like bike riding, athletics, horseback riding and just other forms of athletic physical activity.’ So I say, ‘Look doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports. Just check the hymen please and give me back my results expeditiously,’” T.I. said, airing out all of his daughter’s personal information on the podcast.
T.I. violated Deyjah Harris’ privacy on a podcast
As if things couldn’t get any worse, the expediTIously with Tip “T.I.” Harris podcast host then went on to express that his daughter was, in fact, still a virgin the last time he checked. “I will say as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact.” He continued on to brag about this fact, claiming that he’d done his part to save his daughter from men because he believes that nobody would want to be with a virgin. “They’re no fun. Who wants a virgin? Like really? All that work,” T.I. shared.
Concern for his kids
This is truly such a gross invasion of privacy for T.I’s daughter. Not only does he forcefully insert herself in her personal business, but he also announced it on a podcast for the whole world to hear. Furthermore, his actions are extremely sexist and anti-feminist in practice, because we bet money that T.I. will not be this grossly involved in securing his sons’ virginity. Truthfully, this entire situation is disgusting and we can only hope that Deyjah Harris has the opportunity to have agency over her own choices and body sooner rather than later.
