Kanye West is running for president

On the 4th of July, Kanye West left America stunned when he announced his aspirations for the Oval Office. The rapper took to Twitter to make the announcement.

“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future,” he tweeted. “I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION.”

His wife, Kim Kardashian West, retweeted his announcement with an American flag emoji, suggesting she’s fully supportive of this endeavor. And Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, also chimed in with an endorsement, tweeting, “You have my full support!”

This isn’t the first time the Grammy Award-winning artist expressed his desire to run for office. He first announced his 2020 campaign plans on stage at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

Tiffany Haddish mocks Kanye West by announcing her own run

The news of West’s presidential run started trending immediately. Some fans are relishing in the idea, while others fear his campaign will just hurt Democrats’ chances of winning. But just people were trying to wrap their heads around the idea of a Kanye West presidency, TIffany Haddish jumped in to roast the rapper, and announce her own bid.

“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future,” Haddish tweeted, mimicking West’s words. “I too am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION.”

But just as fans started reacting to her hilarious tweet, Haddish added icing on the cake by introducing Dave Chappelle as her Vice President.

“Well this just in Dave Chappelle will be my running mate,” she wrote in another tweet. “So #HaddishChappelle2020.”

How do Tiffany Haddish and Dave Chappelle feel about Kanye West?

West has been known to make controversial comments about race in the past. And in 2018, when he visited Donald Trump in the White House donning a MAGA hat, fans were not happy. At the time, when asked about West’s meeting with Trump, Haddish said she couldn’t believe it was real.

“I thought it was a really messed up TV show,” she told Extra TV. “I was like, ‘What show is this, this can’t be real, I hope this is scripted.'”

In an appearance on The Van Jones Show on CNN,  Chappelle was also asked about West’s controversial remarks about race. He said that while he appreciates West’s immense talent, he definitely doesn’t agree with everything the rapper says.

“Kanye’s an artist, and he’s a genius,” Chappelle explained. “I’m not mad at Kanye West, that’s my brother. I love him, I support him, I buy his albums. I don’t have to agree with everything that he says, I just trust him as a person of intent.”
