Tom Hiddleston: The One Thing Chris Hemsworth & Thor Have in Common
Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth starred across from one another several times over on the journey to Avengers: Endgame. Hiddleston — who plays the sly and cunning, calculative and manipulative Loki — will receive his own Disney+ series, while Thor is likely to pass the hammer (literally and metaphorically) to Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder. However, after several Thor installments and multiple Avengers movies, the two have developed quite a close bond.
During an interview with MovieManiacsDE, Tom Hiddleston explained that he has been welcomed by the Hemsworth family, in a fashion similar to how Mowgli was welcomed by the wolfpack. Thus, it’s fair to say that these two actors have become bothers, growing to see and understand each other on quite a personal level.
Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston sat next to one another while discussing their on-screen dynamic and off-screen relationship with MovieManiacsDE; when Hemsworth was asked to name a quality he shares with Thor, he drew a blank. However, Tom Hiddleston stepped in with an answer, as if he had been waiting for the question for years.
Tom Hiddleston on the admirable quality Chris Hemsworth and Thor share
Tom Hiddleston explained that Thor and Chris Hemsworth share one very admirable quality that, if Hemsworth stated, would make him appear arrogant and self-assured, so Hiddleston. After Hemsworth argued that “it’s always hard to make assessments on yourself,” Hiddleston shared:
Chris is an exceptional leader. You can’t say that if you’re a leader because that sounds like your blowing your own trumpet. Thor is a leader of Asgard; he is a leader of man. Chris has amazing qualities of leadership. And that’s not necessarily industry. He inspires people, he’s good-humored, he takes care of his team and everybody on set, and that’s an amazing thing.MovieManiacsDE
Robert Downey Jr. may be famous for hosting elaborate brunches and initiating the Avengers saga, and Chris Evans may play the man who gets to utter the words “Avengers, assemble” in the final installment.; however, it appears that, according to Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth is quite the leader behind-the-scenes.
If Chris Hemsworth wasn’t already perfect enough, now all of us common folk must accept that, in addition to playing a God and boasting the prototypical husky voice every man desires, he is also the perfect kind of leader: the one who takes care of the people around him, as opposed to taking credit for their accomplishments.
Thor may come in a bit heavy-handed in the first film. A bit brazen and overly confident, he is non quite in the mental place required to lead. However, it appears that Chris Hemsworth always retained the leadership qualities Thor comes to uncover later in his narrative.
Hopefully, we will get to see Thor appear in the Disney+ Loki series; however, such a turning of events seems unlikely. Though, given these actors’ chemistry, it won’t be long until a casting director decides to pair them up for a new film. How can you resist?
