Travis Scott Addresses Kylie Jenner Break Up In New Single ‘Highest In the Room’
After hitting it off at music festival Coachella in April 2017, Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner almost immediately became “couple goals.” The two were very open about their relationship and attended basketball games together, got matching tattoos, and Jenner was present at several of Scott’s concerts.
In September 2017, pregnancy rumors began to run rampid while both stayed quiet until Jenner announced the arrival of their child, Stormi Webster, on February 4, 2019, three days after the birth.
The power couple then celebrated birthdays together, vacationed, went to Coachella again, and attended several public outings. However, on October 1, 2019, TMZ reported that Scott and Jenner were taking a break.
After she addressed their break up and other rumors, the rapper also opened up about their relationship in his new single, “Highest in the Room.”
Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner amicably broke up
On October 2, TMZ reported that Scott and Jenner decided to part ways sometime around September 2019 after “trying to make the relationship work for a while.”
According to the same source, the couple has broken up before, so the two could find their way back to each other. Nonetheless, the rapper and beauty mogul are both committed to raising their 20-month-old daughter, Stormi.
Kylie Jenner addressed break up on Twitter
Almost immediately after the power couple announced split, fans began sharing theories that Jenner got back with her ex-boyfriend Jaden Smith and had an early morning encounter with another ex, rapper Tyga.
She took to Twitter on October 3 to address the rumors, writing, “The Internet makes everything 100 times more dramatic than what it really is. There was no 2 a.m. date with Tyga. You see me drop two of my friends off at a studio that he happened to be at.”
The beauty mogul continued in another tweet, “Travis and I are on great terms, and our main focus right now is Stormi! Our friendship and our daughter is a priority.”
Travis Scott addressed break up in ‘Highest in the Room’
Fans have been waiting for the full official version of Scott’s new single, “Highest in the Room,” ever since Jenner previewed a snippet in an advertisement for her cosmetic line back in April 2019.
Produced by well-known musicians Mike Dean, OZ, and Nik D, Scott references his ex-girlfriend several times while proclaiming he is the most intoxicated or highest in the room.
In the first verse, Scott raps, “I’m doin’ a show, I’ll be back soon. That ain’t what she want to hear.” The rapper is most likely referencing the February situation when he canceled a show in Buffalo, New York, because, as several outlets reported, Jenner accused the rapper of cheating, so he stayed home to mend their relationship.
He then ends the first verse by rapping, “When I’m with you I feel alive, you say you love me don’t you lie,” where he describes his great experiences with the youngest Jenner but still questions the authenticity of their relationship.
Will the successful young couple reconcile? Only time will tell.
