Tristan Thompson just can’t win. In addition to being accused of cheating on Khloé Kardashian, he is also the alleged father of personal trainer Maralee Nichols‘ new baby. After Nichols filed a paternity lawsuit against Thompson in California, he filed one against her in Texas. However, a judge recently threw out Thompson’s suit.

Tristan Thompson’s suit was thrown out

Nichols first filed a paternity lawsuit against Thompson in June. Thompson then filed his in July in Texas, where he says that Nichols owns property. According to Us Weekly, both Nichols and Thompson gave virtual testimonies at the hearing regarding the Texas suit before the judge dismissed it.

“Regardless of whether any act of conception occurred in Texas that could have led to the conception of the child, they [allegedly] had a lengthy relationship spanning multiple states,” a source told the outlet. “The child was born in California, the mother resides there and so does Tristan. It would make sense the judge would dismiss this given the facts and the California lawsuit filed prior to the Texas one.”

Maralee’s lawsuit against Tristan

In leaked texts, Thompson asked Nichols to drop her lawsuit and offered her $75,000 to do so.

“You know how I feel,” he wrote in the texts obtained by HollywoodLife. “My feelings haven’t changed at all. Won’t be involved at all. Btw if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money. It’s completely wrong.”

He also alleged that $75,000 was more than Nichols would ever get in child support.

“You are aware that I’m retiring after this season,” he continued. “So in terms of support, it will be whatever is required monthly for someone who’s unemployed. It’s Texas, so it will be only a couple hundred dollars. So, you better off taking this 75k I’m offering cause you won’t get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who’s unemployed.”

Tristan Thompson admitted to having sex with Maralee Nichols

In recent court documents, Thompson admitted to sleeping with Nichols, however, he claimed that the relationship was only sexual.

“Contrary to Petitioner’s many inferences in her declaration, we did not have a serious ongoing relationship,” Thompson said in court filings obtained by HollywoodLife. “We saw each other sporadically between December 2020 and March 13, 2021 and did not have sexual intercourse in California during that time. Petitioner told me that she had been involved with other athletes and understood the limitations of our relationship; to-wit, that we might see each other on a sporadic basis for consensual casual sex only.”

He also claimed that he and Nichols only ever communicated over Snapchat.

“From December 2020 through March 2021, we saw other on such a basis,” he continued. “We never had any telephone calls, emails, nor did we exchange text messages. We only communicated via the Snapchat application.”
