Are You a Hardcore Gamer? Take This Video Game Quiz

A Bullet Bill rushes at Mario in Super Mario World.

Super Mario World | Nintendo

You’ve been a gamer your whole life. You’ve played nearly everything that’s worth playing, from the early classics to the latest triple-A online shooter. You’re basically a pro. Spending all that time in front of screens, you’ve accumulated a mountain of video game facts and trivia that goes unused throughout the majority of your life. It’s time to put that hard-earned knowledge to use. It’s time to take the ultimate video game quiz.

We’ve combed through the history of video games and come up with a series of questions to separate the dedicated gamers from the occasional ones. You’ll need to be familiar with a wide swath of popular games and consoles to answer these questions correctly. Some questions are tougher than others, so there’s a good chance you’ll get at least some of them correct, no matter how many games you’ve played. Others will test the limits of your knowledge of franchises you’ve played for years. You’ll find the questions on the next page, and the answers on page three.

And do yourself a favor: Don’t cheat. Anyone can come up with the answers by typing them into a Google search bar, but you don’t want to be that person. You want to come upon your final score honestly. If you’re a serious gamer, you’ll get the score to prove it. If you don’t score as high as you’d like, you can always spend some time on Wikipedia to brush up on your gaming trivia. The important thing is to have fun, because that’s what gaming is all about. Continue on for the questions.
