14 TV Season Finales You Can’t Miss in April

In addition to the premiere of several new shows, April will bring a slew of notable TV show finales to the screen. Over the next few weeks, a number of both new and returning series are wrapping up, either for the season or for good. Here are 14 TV season finales you won’t want to miss out on this month.

 1. MacGyver, April 14

CBS’ take on MacGyver is closing out its freshman season. The action adventure, starring Lucas Till as the title character, will air its season finale this month, entitled “Cigar Cutter.” The episode will reportedly follow as Murdoc moves forward with his plans for revenge against MacGyver, recruiting an old cellmate to target every agent at the Phoenix Complex.

The finale will air in its usual Friday night time slot at 8 p.m. Eastern. The show has already been renewed for a second season.

2. 24: Legacy, April 17

The latest 24 spinoff, starring Corey Hawkins, will end its 12-episode freshman season. Using the same real-time format as its predecessor, the show follows the story of war hero Eric Carter, who returns to U.S. soil only to get recruited into Washington D.C.’s Counter Terrorist Unit.

The Season 1 finale will air at 8 p.m Eastern on NBC. It’s unclear whether the series will return for a second season.

3. Quantico, April 17

The popular ABC drama will air an action-packed Season 2 finale. The episode, entitled “Kumonk,” will reportedly follow Priyanka Chopra’s Alex Parrish as she leads an operation that will expose an enemy’s plans to sink the president’s reputation.

Fans can catch the episode when it airs on Monday night at 10 p.m. Eastern. As of now, ABC has not yet announced whether Quantico will return for Season 3.

4. Feud, April 23

Ryan Murphy’s newest anthology series is bringing Season 1 to a close. The eight-episode freshman season, subtitled Bette and Joan, stars Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon as Bette Davis and Joan Crawford as they battle during the production of their 1962 film What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?. The finale episode will air at 10 p.m. Eastern on FX.

The show has already been renewed for Season 2, which is expected to premiere in 2018.

5. Homeland, April 9

The sixth season of Showtime’s crime thriller will air its finale episode this spring, in its usual Sunday night time slot. Though this may be the end of the season, fans still have plenty more episodes to look forward to in the future.

The show, starring Claire Danes, has been preemptively renewed through Seasons 7 and 8.

6. The Walking Dead, April 2

The Walking Dead‘s Season 7 ended its 16-episode run this month and it seems fans have a lot to look forward to. The season finale aired on April 2, but if you missed it, you can catch it on the AMC website.

7. The Blacklist: Redemption, April 13

The Blacklist: Redemption | NBC

The anticipated Blacklist spinoff will also end its eight-episode freshman season in April. The show features Famke Janssen and Ryan Eggold who are reprising their roles as covert operatives Susan Scott “Scottie” Hargrave and Tom Keen. The finale will air at 9 p.m. Eastern on NBC.

The network has not yet announced whether the series will return for Season 2.

8. Bates Motel, April 24

Bates Motel is officially shutting its doors. The veteran drama will wrap up its 10-episode fifth and final season this month. The season has proven to be a memorable now for fans, even featuring Rihanna as a surprising guest star. Viewers can catch the official finale at 10 p.m. Eastern on A&E.

9. Girls, April 16

After earning plenty of critical acclaim in its first five seasons, Lena Dunham’s groundbreaking comedy drama will wrap up for good this spring. HBO confirmed that the sixth season would be the show’s last, following Dunham’s hints that Season 6 would be an ideal ending point for the series.

The series finale, reportedly entitled “Latching,” will air at 10 p.m. Eastern.

10. Legends of Tomorrow, April 4

The sophomore season of The CW’s hero team-up series came to a close this month, and it went out with a bang. The episode followed the Legends as they attempted to head to a new destination, only to get derailed by a massive timequake. In order to try and fix what happened, they were forced to break a cardinal rule of time travel.

11. Big Little Lies, April 2

HBO’s star-studded adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s best-seller also concluded this month. The seven-episode miniseries starred Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley as three prominent mothers in Monterey, California, whose seemingly perfect lives are unravelled by a shocking murder. Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, Adam Scott, and Alexander Skarsgard co-star.

12. The Path, April 12

The second season of this original Hulu drama will air its final episode this month. The show, starring Aaron Paul, Michelle Monaghan, and Hugh Dancy, follows a family at the center of a controversial cult movement. The season finale is entitled “Mercy.”

Hulu has not yet announced whether the drama will be returning for a third season.

13. Sun Records, April 13

14. APB, April 24

Fox’s freshman procedural drama stars Justin Kirk as Gideon Reeves, a tech billionaire who is given control over a Chicago police district. The Season 1 finale, entitled “Pandora’s Box,” follows as Gideon gets trapped in a secret lab while hiding from the men who are threatening his life.

The episode will air at 9 p.m. Eastern on FOX.
