5 Season Finales to Watch on TV in November
In addition to the premiere of several new fall shows, November will also bring a handful of notable TV show finales to the screen. Over the next few weeks, a number of both new and returning series are set to wrap up, either for the season or for good. Here are five TV season finales to tune into over the next month.
1. Atlanta, November 1
The 10-episode freshman season of FX’s new hit comedy wraps up this month. Created by and starring Donald Glover, the show follows two cousins navigating the rap scene in Atlanta in an effort to change their own lives and that of their families. Since its September debut, the series has earned high critical acclaim. The network has already renewed the comedy for a second season.
2. Versailles, November 19
The freshman season of Ovation’s period drama, set during the construction of the Versailles Palace in 1667, will air its finale this month. The show stars George Blagden as a young Louis XIV, who — in a self-interested political move — imposes a move of the court from Paris to Versailles. Alexander Vlahos, Elisa Lasowski, Stuart Bowman, and Tygh Runyan co-star in the series, which has already been renewed for a sophomore season.
3. The Durrells, November 20
Based on Gerald Durrell’s autobiographical books, this six-part PBS drama begins in 1935 and follows Louisa Durrell who moves her family to the Greek island of Corfu after her husband dies. The family must adapt to life on the island which, despite a lack of electricity, is an affordable and an earthly paradise. Keeley Hawes, Milo Parker, Josh O’Connor, Daisy Waterstone, Callum Woodhouse, and Lucy Black co-star in the show. A second season has already been renewed.
4. Indian Summers, November 20
The PBS drama, set in 1932, follows a group of socialites who spend summers at Simla, in the foothills of the Himalayas, at the time of the British Raj. Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Nikesh Patel, Julie Walters, Patrick Malahide, Jemima West, Roshan Seth, Lillete Dubey, Aysha Kala, and Alexander Cobb co-star in the series, which will conclude its second and final season this month.
5. Poldark, November 27
The PBS drama, which also airs on BBC One in the U.K., will conclude its sophomore season in November. The show takes place in 18th century Cornwall and follows adventurer, Ross Poldark as he attempts to fight the injustices plaguing the working class — including unemployment, hunger, and sickness. Aidan Turner stars as Poldark, while Eleanor Tomlinson, Heida Reed, Jack Farthing, Kyle Soller, and Warren Clarke co-star. A third season has already been green-lit.
