‘Below Deck’: Which Cast Members Are Returning for Season 7?

As Below Deck Mediterranean season four heats up, Bravo flicks at the return of Below Deck season seven. The network threw fans a bone by revealing which cast members will return.

No dates or locations were shared but Bravo confirmed that Captain Lee Rosbach will be the helm with chief stew Kate Chastain heading up the interior. This will be Rosbach’s seventh season on the show and Chastain’s sixth.

Also returning fresh off of season six is deckhand Ashton Pienaar. Bravo did not reveal which position Pienaar will assume, but he will likely be working with the deck team. Although Bravo only confirmed the three cast members will return, fans had a knee jerk reaction to the photo the network shared on Instagram. Which cast member did they instantly shade?

What have Captain Lee and Kate been up to since last season?

Rosbach and Chastain have encountered several big life changes since last season. Chastain made the bold move to relocate from her home in Florida to New York City. She and her dog Halo have posted about a number of adventures, most of which include their encounters with transportation.

Chastain recently wrote on Instagram, “I think my dog might be bougie b/c he freaks out on the subway and in taxis but not UberX 😫.” She also shared her first subway ride with viewers, which she admitted was a little nerve-wracking.

Rosbach’s year hasn’t been all that great. Most recently his son Josuah died at age 42 on July 22 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Rosbach shared that his son was addicted to drugs and wrote a heartbreaking Instagram post about his son and addiction. “This past Saturday, my beloved wife Mary Anne and I laid our youngest son, Joshua Lee Rosbach to rest,” he wrote. “After a twenty year struggle, he finally succumbed to the demons he fought so long and so hard.  Addiction is an insidious disease that knows no social status or geographic boundaries.”

What reaction did fans have to the Instagram announcement?

Pienaar also joins the cast for season seven. He has been hanging out in the Bahamas getting extremely fit and sharing jaw-dropping photos on his Instagram. “Dock workouts! Monday morning motivation- Whatever you are doing this week, make sure to give it 100%💪🏼 Don’t try, just do it!” he wrote.

Fans seemed thrilled to see Pienaar return for season seven. But the photo Bravo posted to Instagram produced some curious responses. Although only Pienaar, Chastain and Rosbach are confirmed to return, the photo that included Rhyee Gerber received a number of negative comments. Bravo has not confirmed that Gerber would return.

Fans made comments like, “Please no Riley!!! She’s awful and her attitude is horrific… keep her off.. not fun drama with her.” Gerber addressed the comments on Instagram live. She hoped to engage with those who did not want her to return to the show and said she planned to host more live chats to get a chance to talk face to face to her haters. Although she begged for haters to chat with her she ended up talking with two fans. Stay tuned.
