Christmas Town is based on a 2016 book by Donna VanLiere, according to US Weekly, which first reported the news of the Full House alum’s latest project. Several of VanLiere’s books have already been turned into films for Hallmark, including The Christmas Secret and The Christmas Note.

Bure’s latest Hallmark holiday movie is about a woman named Lauren Gabriel who leaves behind her life in Boston and ends up making an unexpected detour to the town of charming town of Grandon Falls, where she rediscovers the magic of Christmas.

In addition to Bure, Christmas Town will star Tim Rozon as Travis, a Grandon Falls local who helps Lauren out with a ride from the train station into town. Beth Broderick plays a local waitress who befriends Lauren.

Preparing for “Countdown to Christmas” 2019

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Hallmark’s annual “Countdown to Christmas” celebration, and Christmas Town is just one of 40 original films that Hallmark plans to air during the holiday season. That’s two more new movies than aired in 2018 and a record for the network.

Other new movies on the slate include A Christmas Love Story starring Kristin Chenoweth and Scott Wolf, Holiday for Heroes with Melissa Claire Egan and Marc Blucas, Five Cards for Christmas with Chad Michael Murray and Torrey DeVitto, and A Family Under the Christmas Tree (tentative title) with Merritt Patterson and Jon Cor. The network will also air a new movie with Jodie Sweetin, currently titled Merry and Bright, and a holiday movie from executive producer Blake Shelton.

Can’t wait until December for all this holiday fun? Hallmark is airing old Christmas movies every Friday at 8/7c to get viewers in the Christmas spirit. Plus, viewers can look forward to July’s Keepsake Christmas Week, when a brand-new Christmas movie will debut.
