Gwen Stefani’s 5 Surprisingly Easy Tips For Getting in Killer Shape

Singer, fashionista, and celebrity coach on NBC’s The Voice looks at least 20 years younger than her actual age of 50. Her sunny California girl appeal speaks to the fact that she takes care of herself in every way.

Get the inside scoop on how the former No Doubt singer keeps herself looking so ageless.

Stefani went vegan

The singer told Harper’s Bazaar in 2012 that staying fit is pretty obvious.

“There is no secret: You just have to eat healthy, work out, and torture yourself! But it’s more for my brain than it is for my body.” Plus, “I like to wear clothes too much, so I try to keep focused.”

A plant-based diet clearly seems to be working for the Just A Girl singer. Her beaming complexion alone is a ringing endorsement for a cleaned-up diet. In July 2017, Livestrong reported that in her hotel visits, the celebrity routinely requests vitamin waters, soy milk, organic vegetables such as beets, carrots, celery and spinach, organic almonds and cashews, and organic fruits, including plums, melons, and bananas.

She practices gratitude

Looking great isn’t just about eating and moving. Stefani made this clear, as she told E! News in 2015. “[I’m] really trying to connect and be grateful, considerate, being present and living in the moment, and so that’s where I’ve put a lot of my exercise right now,” she explained.

“So, if that’s what you’re seeing, that’s awesome, because I’ve been working really hard on that.”

Stefani found exercise she loves doing

It makes so much sense: find exercise you love doing and keep doing it. The Sweet Escape singer told Shape this month about her favorite fitness moves.

“I have no magic thing that I do to stay fit. I eat really clean, do my shows, and work out [and] always feel better when I’m in a routine even though I sometimes hate it. I play tennis, badly, with Blake. Then we go to the gym…and do squats and lunges and light weights. I don’t go crazy like I used to. I do just enough to make my body feel good.”

She treats herself once in a while

Stefani allows herself to indulge on occasion because, well, sometimes you have to.

“…after a Chicago show we literally came home with nine seven-pound Chicago deep dish pizzas and ate a few on the plane,” she shared with Bon Appetit in 2015. “The next day I had my entire family over and we went to town on the rest of them. I literally gained three pounds in three days. But thank you, Chicago. I needed it!”

She’s intentional about skincare

“The one thing that I have really changed is trying to get all the makeup off,” she told Elle in 2017…the key is to keep it clean at night. Let your face breathe… [and] Stay out the sun!…It’s funny though, because you definitely see it as you get older. Later in life, you’re like “What is that?!,” and it turns out it’s from the sun and you’re like, “Oh why did I do that to myself?”
