While DragCon is an event many refuse to miss out on every year, attending the convention does come at a price.

So how much does it really cost to attend DragCon and are the extra expenses really worth it?

Meeting your favorite queens comes at a price

When many of us think of RuPaul’s DragCon, our minds immediately go to Drag Queens.

Many queens who we’ve watched compete on RuPaul’s Drag Race attend the event and pull out all of the stops when it comes to their DragCon looks.

Fans obviously know this and look forward to meeting their favorite drag queens in person during the event.

While you have the opportunity to see queens walking around the venue or speaking during a panel, there’s nothing like giving them a hug and posing for a few snapshots at their designated booths.

While meeting queens is something many people look forward too, doing so does come at a price.

In order to get up close and take a picture with a Queen at their booth, you have to spend a little money.

While you can pay as little as $10 at your favorite queen’s booth, once you’ve gone the entire day meeting queen after queen, you’ve already spent a good chunk of change.

Many other expenses come into play

Though you can attend DragCon for as little as $40, your ticket isn’t the only thing you’ll be spending money on.

In addition to paying money to meet your favorite drag queens, you also have to budget in the cost of food, travel, and accommodations.

Seeing as though DragCon is one of the biggest conventions that take place in New York and Los Angeles, hotels rates are through the roof for those people who don’t live close to those cities.

Even buying food at the venue can be a little on the pricey side but you are able to leave the event and go on the hunt for something else.

While a lot of expenses come into play when you’re attending DragCon, the experience you’ll have doesn’t compare to any amount of money.

Just getting to connect with other super fans and seeing your favorite queens is worth every penny.

So, if you are one who is on the fence when it comes to attending DragCon in the future due to expenses, we can honestly say this event is definitely worth any amount of money!
