Tyler Skaggs budding MLB career

Tyler Wayne Skaggs, born July 13, 1991, in Woodland Hills, California, was named the 2008 player of the year in the Ocean League when he was a junior in high school. The following year, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim chose him as their 40th pick in the first round. He made his professional debut in the 2009 season in Minor League Baseball at the Rookie level.

However, in 2010, the Angels traded him, along with Patrick Corbin, Joe Saunders, and Rafael Rodriguez, to the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2011, he started in the Class A-Advanced California League and then moved up to the Class AA Southern League later that year. The pitcher made his MLB debut on August 22, 2012, and the Diamondbacks came through with the win.

In 2013, the Arizona Diamondbacks traded Skaggs back to the Los Angeles Angels. The next year, he underwent ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, also referred to as the Tommy John surgery. Therefore, he decided he would not pitch for the 2015 season. He returned in 2016 and started six games. Throughout the next season, he spent 98 days on the disabled list and only started 16 games.

During the 2018 season, he was put on the disabled list twice. The MLB player started the 2019 season, however, ended up on the disabled list again for a sprained ankle after three stars. He was put back into rotation on April 26 and had a record of seven wins and seven losses with 78 strikeouts.

Tyler Skaggs recently got married

In November 2017, Skaggs proposed to his best friend, Carli Miles, and they married in December 2018. The two frequently posted about their love for each other, and he called 2018 his “best year yet.” Carli created a basket of the baseball player’s “favorite things” for an MLB auction, and it included an iTunes gift card, the 1993 comedy Sandlot, a Lakers shirt, a baseball laundry basket, and lottery tickets.

In a Wealth Management article, Carli explained that the 2018 California wildfires almost destroyed their Malibu wedding destination. Luckily, the wedding room was untouched, and they were able to proceed with the wedding. She also said that being a baseball wife is stressful because he’s always on the move. However, the couple recently bought a home in Santa Monica and wanted to start a family.

Alongside supporting her husband, Carli also runs a luxury travel agency along with her mother, Nina. Her Instagram profile is currently private, and the profile picture is of her and her late husband on their wedding day.
