Engagement looked almost certain for the pair by the end of the season. The two often hinted about an impending engagement, plus Schroeder talked directly about getting engaged with Clark’s mother. The cast also embraced Clark into their tight-knit group, including Schroeder’s ex, Jax Taylor.
When Clark presented the ring, Schroeder couldn’t resist the humorous Instagram post. “OMG. I feel like Meghan Markle,” she wrote gazing with excitement at her huge diamond ring. So how did Clark propose and how was this proposal uniquely Schroeder?
Clark knew this would be the perfect setting
Some people make extravagant plans to propose to their betrothed and Clark was no different. But instead of popping the question in a hot air balloon or in front of a string quartet, Clark made this novel move.
Schroeder revealed how the proposal went down on her Instagram story. “I woke up today, just thinking I was going to go tour mausoleums in a cemetery to see if I wanted to buy one,” she says. “And THIS! And f**king this!” She flashes the gorgeous engagement ring on her finger to the camera as she laughs.
Clark looks on in the background completely amused and grinning. “I love you, I feel like a queen,” she says to her new fiancé. He tells her she should [feel like a queen]. “This is a ring straight out of Downton Abbey,” Schroeder adds. Clark also shared an image of the proposal. He’s down on one knee as Schroeder sits on a bench with her hands over her mouth.
Everyone came out to celebrate (including the boss herself)
What would a Vanderpump Rules engagement be like without having all of your closest friends nearby to celebrate? The cast filled their Instagrams with video and pictures of a lovely dinner, that appears to be at Lisa Vanderpump’s home, to mark the happy occasion.
Schroeder re-posted a video of being served by Lisa Vanderpump. Clark also made a heartfelt toast too. He professed his love for Schroeder, plus referred to those who gathered around the couple as a “new family.”
Clark also looked into the group and said he hoped to “kick-ass” as a son in law. He posted a picture with Schroeder’s family along with #family. During an episode, Schroeder and her mother shared several tense moments when her mother made disparaging remarks about how she functioned in a relationship.
The couple shared a group hug with Taylor. Plus friends and family gushed on the couple’s Instagram accounts. Bravo producer, Andy Cohen knew immediately that Clark proposed in a cemetery too. “VERY HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH. And thank Gd he had the sense to propose at a cemetery,” he wrote. Kyle Cooke from Summer House hilariously added, “This makes me happy AF. So excited for you two! I’ll wear a turtleneck to the wedding unless told otherwise.”
