‘Vanderpump Rules’: Jax Taylor And Brittany Cartwright Spill On That Insane Reunion
The Season 7 reunion of Vanderpump Rules is almost here and stars Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright claim that the three-part Bravo special is “insane” and “chaotic.” The engaged couple recently opened up about what happened during the taping, and they both claim that this season’s reunion is something that fans have never seen before.
Taylor thought the reunion would be easy
When Taylor walked onto the Vanderpump Rules reunion stage, he remembers thinking that taping the special was going to be easy because the season had been fine up until that point. However, he claims that when the cameras started rolling, everyone immediately started holding everyone else accountable for their actions this season, and he never saw it coming.
“I’ve seen some Housewives reunions, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard of a reunion this bad. This was bad,” Taylor told Entertainment Tonight. “The amount of times that [I thought] ‘I don’t know how they’re going to edit it. I really want to talk to the editors about the amount of cussing and drama and the amount of times Andy [Cohen] had to say, ‘Shut the f*** up.’ It was going crazy. The amount of walkouts, crying, breaks.”
Cartwright added that Vanderpump Rules fans would see a side of her they have never seen before and admitted that she screamed at Tom Sandoval for taking James Kennedy’s side during the taping. Cartwright explained that Kennedy was a major source of drama at the reunion, and she got offended because he was rude and started calling her family hillbillies.
The bride-to-be says the one thing she can’t stand is someone attacking her family, so she ended up going off on him. The SUR DJ also mentioned Taylor’s late father, and the 39-year-old said that thoughts of a lawsuit and losing his job were the only things that kept him from losing it during the tense exchange.
James Kennedy is relentless
In the reunion trailer that The Daily Dish calls “bananas,” things get so heated between Taylor and Kennedy that host Andy Cohen is forced to separate them as Taylor screams, “You and your stupid f***ing girlfriend are useless!”
Both men are up and out of their seats after Kennedy brings up Taylor’s dad. Taylor admits he was so irritated that he wanted to start punching, and he believes Kennedy deserves an “a**-kicking.”
Taylor notes that Kennedy never stops, and it’s “just one thing after another with this guy.” He added that it feels like Kennedy is playing roulette because he’s dodged several bullets with many different people. Taylor says it makes him angry, but Cartwright isn’t going to let him affect her anymore like he did at the reunion because it isn’t worth it.
Everyone went their separate ways
In the preview, Vanderpump Rules fans see explosive clips like one featuring Lisa Vanderpump exclaiming “This is going too far,” and Lala Kent telling Raquel Leviss that just because she has a vagina doesn’t mean that she will support her.
Things were so “tense” and “brutal” at this reunion that the cast mostly went their separate ways after more than ten hours of taping instead of going out and grabbing drinks together.
Taylor does admit that he and Cartwright did grab some Taco Bell with Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney.
The engagement party is nothing compared to their upcoming wedding
Fans got to witness Taylor and Cartwright’s lavish engagement bash at the end of Season 7, and the couple says their upcoming wedding has triple the budget.
“We’re really, really ready,” Taylor said of the wedding. “It’s very exciting. All this lead up to it, she’s done the majority of the work, but I’m very excited. I’ve seen everything. I cannot wait — we’re pumped!”
Taylor and Cartwright also revealed that they don’t have a prenup, Kennedy didn’t get an invite, they will have approximately 220 guests, and as soon as the wedding is over, they will start making babies. Taylor turns 40 this year, and he says it’s time for them to start a family.
Part one of the Season 7 Vanderpump Rules reunion airs Monday, May 6, on Bravo.
