Vanderpump Rules stars Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz tied the knot in the summer of 2016, but they are not husband and wife – not officially anyway. Although the couple exchanged vows in a ceremony in Northern California, they did not send in the proper paperwork following the wedding. As far as the state of California is concerned, Maloney and Schwartz never got married.
Lance Bass drops a bombshell about Maloney and Schwartz’s wedding
While talking about Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s wedding, Lance Bass revealed that Maloney and Schwartz are not legally married. The singer, who officiated Taylor and Cartwright’s ceremony, explained that they did not send in the right paperwork so California authorities did not officially recognize their union.
“We just found out Tom and Katie are not married. They did not send in their materials right. So, they are not married,” Bass shared.
Maloney and Schwartz’s marriage license failure will be addressed in Season 8 of Vanderpump Rules. It is unclear why the couple failed to send in the right paperwork, though Bass alluded that it was Schwartz’s fault.
Bass mentioned Schwartz’s drinking habits and admitted that he sometimes gets out of control. He even talked about Schwartz’s behavior during Taylor and Cartwright’s wedding, revealing that he spotted him dozing off at one point. There is no telling who messed up the paperwork, but it sounds like we will get some answers in the upcoming season.
Katie Maloney pushes for a pregnancy
Maloney and Schwartz have not commented on the status of their marriage. The two are likely keeping quiet because it will be a storyline in Season 8 of Vanderpump Rules. While the couple may not be officially married, inside sources claim that Maloney is ready to start a family and has told Schwartz that she had better get pregnant soon or not at all.
This is not the first time Maloney has threatened Schwartz with a pregnancy. When they decided to get married in 2016, she allegedly told Schwartz the same thing. Now that Schwartz is better off with his career, Maloney once again feels like it is time to start a family.
That said, Maloney previously opened up about having kids and confessed that she wants to travel more before starting a family. It is unclear if Maloney and Schwartz are seriously considering having a child of their own, but hopefully the two will address the topic in Season 8 of Vanderpump Rules.
Schwartz and Maloney hit the red carpet
Amid the pregnancy speculation, Maloney and Schwartz appeared together on the red carpet for this year’s MTV Movie and TV Awards. The pair showed up alongside several of their Vanderpump Rules co-stars, including Ariana Madix, Tom Sandoval, Billie Lee, James Kennedy, and Lala Kent. Maloney was not shy about showing some skin as she posed with Schwartz, who rocked a baby blue outfit complete with pink sneakers.
Schwartz and Maloney have not commented on the recent pregnancy talk, though she did not appear to be sporting a baby bump at the event.
While Maloney and Schwartz are remaining tight-lipped about their family plans, they did open up about Lisa Vanderpump’s decision to leave the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after a disastrous season.
Maloney dishes on Vanderpump’s ‘RHOBH’ exit
Vanderpump quit filming half-way through the current season of RHOBH and skipped out on the reunion as well. She later confirmed that she is done with the show, though she will continue to be a part of her spin-off, Vanderpump Rules. Talking about her boss’s exit, Maloney revealed that Vanderpump has been more upbeat at work recently and looks like she has less stress in her life.
Maloney added that Vanderpump might be more involved in Season 8 of Vanderpump Rules now that she does not have to worry about RHOBH anymore. Vanderpump, of course, has not commented on all the rumors surrounding her departure from the popular show.
Even though she is no longer on RHOBH, Vanderpump is still a very busy individual, so the level of her involvement in the spin-off remains unknown at this time.
Production is currently underway for Season 8 of Vanderpump Rules. Bravo has not revealed an official premiere date, though the show is expected to return later this year.
