‘Vanderpump Rules’: Tom Schwartz Gives New Cast Members a ‘Shout Out’
Like most cast members, Schwartz recognized that the original cast and new cast members didn’t exactly gel the season. At least six new, younger cast members were added to the roster bringing the total cast to 19. OG Scheana Shay recently joked about the expanded cast when she dished about the show on Dumb Gay Politics with Julie & Brandy podcast.
“We’ve got 72 people on the show now,” she joked. “There’s literally 19 people doing interviews. Yeah, the show started with six and now there’s 19.” But Schwartz wants to smooth everything over and gave the newbies a “shout out” on Instagram.
Feeling emotional on the eve of the season 8 finale
Schwartz admits he was feeling all the feels the night of the season finale. “Last pic I took during this season & first pic,” Schwartz shared, along with a picture of his wife and a photo with Shay.
“I’m not especially known for feeling all the feelings but I felt a lot of them during the finale. 8 years in! What’d you all think of the new cast? They deserve a little shout out bc coming into an established show on its 8th season with a group of not just cast members, but deep rooted friendships and bonds is no easy task,” he continued.
“Pumped for you all to see the #tomtom expansion when we get up and running. Enchanted forest chic🌳🌹💎⚙️Alright sending love to you all. PS Is it ok to say “we are all in this together” one last time if it’s in regards to watching tonight’s all new #pumprules ?”
Some of the cast responded, feeling sad they could not gather for a cast party due to the pandemic. “www miss y’all 💖💖💖,” Ariana Madix wrote. Shay added, “Haha omg i love this and also don’t remember it!”
Also, new cast member Dayna Kathan wrote, “awhhhh, schwartz 🖤.”
Schwartz has been torn this season
It wasn’t the new cast members, but the original cast that had Schwartz completely torn this season. He and Tom Sandoval started the season as Jax Taylor’s best men. Taylor became angry with Sandoval when Sandoval didn’t make Taylor’s wedding his first priority. So Taylor demoted Sandoval and made Schwartz his number one best man.
Later in the season, Taylor and Sandoval had pool parties on the same day. Schwartz, once again was put in the middle. “I wanted to go to both but [Taylor] sent me these long texts about how I should just not come,” he said during the Vanderpump Rules After Show. “I think it came from a good place. Because he knows how I am. And how I was gonna be torn.”
“Jax started texting Schwartz for no reason,” wife Katie Maloney-Schwartz recalls. “It was like, ‘Hey man I don’t think you should come to my party. Like I think you should support Sandoval. He’s your business partner.” Schwartz, at that point, was totally over it. He happily went to Sandoval’s party.
