Vienna Girardi of ‘The Bachelor’ Talks Plastic Surgery and Suffering from Depression
The former reality star talked about suffering from depression and getting plastic surgery. Find out what she had to say about her mental health and physical makeover.
Vienna Girardi was the season 14 winner of ‘The Bachelor’
Pavelka was the star of season 14 of The Bachelor. The pilot ended up picking Girardi and proposed to her in the finale. However, it didn’t take long for their relationship to sour after the show.
“When we were at home [it was] lonely,” Girardi said on The Bachelorette according to Us Weekly. “I just wanted him to be around me and talk to me and kiss me like a normal relationship.”
Pavelka joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars, which put even more space between them. She also said that he moved to L.A. to pursue and acting career.
Girardi eventually moved on from that relationship. Years later, she announced she was expecting twins in 2017. Sadly, she later had a miscarriage and now she is opening up about how that experience affected her physically and mentally.
She suffered from depression after her miscarriage
The former reality star suffered from depression and gained weight after her miscarriage of twin girls back in 2017. The twins didn’t make it past 18 weeks due to a rare condition called Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). This is when the bloody supply of one fetus is being moved to the other through the placenta.
“It took me a year, physically and emotionally, to recover and it was really difficult because I would look at myself in the mirror and I wouldn’t feel like myself,” Girardi told Entertainment Tonight.
She talked about how the situation affected her body. “I gained 25 pounds over that year from being depressed,” said Girardi. “It was really hard for me and I felt like it was a wound on top of a wound. Every time I looked at myself, I hurt and then I got angry.”
She got liposuction
She went on to get plastic surgery which involved liposuction to 10 areas of her body. The results changed how she felt about herself.
“I love my body!” she told Us Weekly. “I needed to feel like myself again.” She went on to praise Dr. Franklin Rose for the surgery.
“He did such an amazing job,” she said. “It did take about eight weeks for the swelling to go down, [but] now I’m skinny again!”
This isn’t the first time she went under the knife. She previously got breast implants and a nose job.
Girardi looks like she’s been busy lately. She is still working in real estate and is in a relationship. The Bachelor winner also recently shared a post that acknowledged October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month.
