Was Everybody Too Hard on Jordyn Woods After the Cheating Scandal?
The Kardashian family is used to being involved in a lot of drama, all the time. However, in February 2019, even they got thrown for a loop when the cheating scandal of the year unfolded in a very public way.
Jordyn Woods, Kylie Jenner’s longtime best friend, was revealed to have been seen in a compromising situation with Tristan Thompson, Khloe Kardashian’s boyfriend, and the father of her young child. Khloe Kardashian is, of course, Kylie Jenner’s older sister, also good friends with Woods.
How the cheating scandal unfolded
It all started when social media leaked the news of Woods hooking up with Thompson. Khloe Kardashian herself seemed to confirm the news by commenting on social media. Once the news started making headlines all over the world, Woods had enough and announced her intention to appear on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook video series, “Red Table Talk,” to tell her side of the story.
Although Kardashian tweeted at Woods that she should have called her privately to apologize instead of going public, Woods spoke to Pinkett Smith and gave her account of events.
According to Woods, although Thompson had kissed her, it was one-sided, and that nothing past that had occurred. It didn’t seem that Khloe Kardashian bought it, and blasted Woods on social media, calling her a liar – and hundreds of Kardashian’s fans chimed in, vocalizing their feelings towards Woods in not-very-kind ways.
It was hard on Jordyn Woods
In the midst of the social media onslaught, Woods was deliberately cut out of the Kardashian family circle. She was moved out of Kylie Jenner’s palatial home, where she had been living, and all of her business ties with the Kardashians were unceremoniously cut, including her cosmetics partnership with Jenner, and her modeling gigs for Khloe Kardashian’s “Good American” denim company.
Woods stayed fairly silent during this period of transition, not posting a lot to social media and not granting many interviews, aside from the “Red Table Talk” conversation. Recently she did speak out on a panel at Nigeria’s Homecoming Festival and stated that she felt very bullied by the events that unfolded several months ago.
Although she didn’t go into specifics about whether or not she felt particular intimidation from any members of the Kardashian family, she did state that “the whole world” had bullied her.
Woods seems to be back on her feet
Even if her emotional state is still tenuous, Woods isn’t doing badly, post-scandal. A visit to her Instagram page reveals that she still advertises for several brands, including eyelash extensions and a swimsuit company, presumably paid endorsements.
She also still makes money for speaking engagements and interviews, so even though her Kardashian business relationships have ended, she’s still able to make money. For a while, there were even rumors that Woods was considering launching her own reality show based on the drama that the cheating scandal caused. Although that TV series has not yet materialized, there’s no telling what the future could bring.
As for her friendship with Kylie Jenner, all hope isn’t lost. Jenner herself has stayed mum on whether or not she would consider reconciling with Woods, and recently, Woods told paparazzi that she will “always” love Jenner.
Still, the new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians is currently airing Sunday nights on the E! network, and sneak peeks of upcoming episodes have revealed that the family will likely dive deep into the cheating scandal in upcoming episodes.
These episodes could cause more ill will between Woods and Jenner, or it could have the opposite effect, and reunite the two once-inseparable friends.
