Was ‘Game of Thrones’ The Most Disappointing Show of 2019?

At this point, most people have probably heard of the fan response to season 8 of Game of Thrones. To put it simply, many fans did not like the final season of the HBO show. Some people probably enjoyed it but for many fans, it was the most unsatisfying ending for a previously epic story.

Game of Thrones was disappointing at the end for so many reasons. But is it possible that Game of Thrones was the most disappointing show of 2019? Find out, ahead.

How was ‘Game of Thrones’ disappointing?

Game of Thrones let many fans down with its final season. Many fans felt that season 8 was a failure. It let fans down in many ways, whether that was by wrapping up plots too easily or giving characters unsatisfying endings.

The Night King and his White Walkers were easily defeated in one episode, which many fans did not like. Many characters such as Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, and Tyrion Lannister were not written well in the opinion of many fans. Daenerys, especially, made many fans unhappy with her ending.

Many fans felt that Daenerys did not have to go, if she did have to go at all, like that. Her arc, in many fans’ minds, should have had a more inspiring and most importantly well-written ending. Jon Snow, as well, should have been treated better by the narrative. He shouldn’t have followed Daenerys as long as he did, at least in many fans’ minds.

Tyrion also, in the opinion of many fans, should have kept his wit and political savvy from the earlier seasons of Game of Thrones and used it to help Daenerys. Perhaps then, such a tragic fate for her character could have been avoided. It also would have made Tyrion’s ending make more sense, as anyone would want a witty and intelligent person on their side while ruling. In the end, Game of Thrones was just disappointing, and that’s sad.
