Game of Thrones let many fans down with its final season. Many fans felt that season 8 was a failure. It let fans down in many ways, whether that was by wrapping up plots too easily or giving characters unsatisfying endings.

The Night King and his White Walkers were easily defeated in one episode, which many fans did not like. Many characters such as Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, and Tyrion Lannister were not written well in the opinion of many fans. Daenerys, especially, made many fans unhappy with her ending.

Many fans felt that Daenerys did not have to go, if she did have to go at all, like that. Her arc, in many fans’ minds, should have had a more inspiring and most importantly well-written ending. Jon Snow, as well, should have been treated better by the narrative. He shouldn’t have followed Daenerys as long as he did, at least in many fans’ minds.

Tyrion also, in the opinion of many fans, should have kept his wit and political savvy from the earlier seasons of Game of Thrones and used it to help Daenerys. Perhaps then, such a tragic fate for her character could have been avoided. It also would have made Tyrion’s ending make more sense, as anyone would want a witty and intelligent person on their side while ruling. In the end, Game of Thrones was just disappointing, and that’s sad.

Game of Thrones was disappointing, definitely. But does it really deserve the title of most disappointing show of 2019? Well, it probably depends on which Game of Thrones fans you ask. Those who were disappointed by the show would definitely give it that title.

While other fans, those who enjoyed the ending, would say that it’s an exaggeration. However, there’s definitely a good amount of fans out there who would agree that Game of Thrones was the most disappointing show of 2019. So which fans to side with? That is the question.

Certainly, the fans who would agree that Game of Thrones was the most disappointing show seem to have numbers on their side. While the other fans are perhaps less intense about their opinions on the show, both groups of fans definitely have the passion. In the end, Game of Thrones probably will be known as the most disappointing show of 2019, whether that is the reality or not. And it certainly was very disappointing.

So, we’re going to have to side with the disgruntled fans here, though perhaps with less intensity behind it.
