While fans of the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots are gearing up to watch their teams compete in Super Bowl LII, casual fans, and those attending a neighbor’s house party to socialize, are looking forward to the commercials.
If you have no rooting interest or just aren’t a big NFL fan, chances are you’re much more excited to see the ads on Feb. 4, than the big game. Therefore, at many homes outside of the New England and Philadelphia areas, the commercials will be the main event and this year promises to give us some touching and laugh-out-loud advertisements featuring some famous faces. Here’s a list of the big-name celebrities who signed on for a spot in the 2018 Super Bowl commercials.
Many details surrounding the ad have been kept under wraps, meaning we’ll just have to wait to see it on Super Bowl Sunday. But Pratt promised it will be big so we are going to take his word for it.
Next: This ad will feature more than one big star.
Morgan Freeman and Peter Dinklage
Two big Pepsi Co. brands are coming together in one ad that features a couple of famous stars facing off against one another.
In what many believe will be one of the funniest commercials during the big game, Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage and legendary actor Morgan Freeman are going to head-to-head. They have also enlisted rappers Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes for some help with tongue twisters. You can watch a sneak peek here.
Next: This ad will bring us right back to 1992.
Supermodel Cindy Crawford will recreate her iconic Super Bowl commercial for Pepsi 26 years after it first aired. While the ad will be similar to the original, the ageless beauty will be joined by her 18-year-old son, Presley Gerber, this time.
“Just as a mother, we drove to work together that day and we shared the same trailer. And when he was doing his thing, I was just a proud mom watching from the sidelines, trying not to annoy him,” Crawford told the Associated Press.
Next: This star will be bathing in this candy.
Actor Danny Devito is another big name who is starring in a big Super Bowl ad for a big company.
Clips of the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor in an M&M’s commercial have been released, and it looks like critics are going to discuss whether or not they like his unique ad for the candy.
Next: This actress really loves Groupon.
Girls Trip star Tiffany Haddish is not shy about her love for Groupon, and in this ad, she wants everyone else to love and support their local businesses, too.
The commercial shows what could happen to someone who is not a Groupon shopper and it doesn’t “feel good.” You can check it out here.
Next: Squarespace tapped this celebrity to star in its commercial.
For the fifth year in a row, Squarespace has an ad during the Super Bowl, and Keanu Reeves is the latest celebrity to star in a commercial for the web publishing platform.
The teasers for the ad are out and in the clips, the very cool, motorcycle-riding actor gets pretty emotional about building his own site.
Next: This beer brand hasn’t had a Super Bowl ad since 2011.
And finally, Matt Damon will appear in a 30-second ad for Stella Artois and its partnership with the Water.org, which the actor co-founded. This commercial, about the very serious subject of the global water crisis, was the first ad to appear online ahead of the big game.
“We’re excited to bring this global issue to a stage as big as the Super Bowl this year,” said Harry Lewis, Vice President of Stella Artois. “I feel very privileged to work on a campaign that will help build a better world for millions of people; doing well by doing good is an incredible feeling, which is why I’m so passionate about our partnership with Water.org.”
