Williams and Hunter got married in 1997, and their marriage was had been tested numerous times. In the early 2000s, for example, Hunter reportedly cheated on Williams. Though, the two of them managed to work things out and stay together.

In 2017, there suddenly were many allegations of Hunter having a mistress. Even though Williams was aware that Hunter was being unfaithful, yet again, she decided to stay with him. She even defended her decision on The Wendy Williams Show, saying that “marriages have ebbs and flow” and that they are “not easy.”

However, the final straw for Williams actually came when the infamous mistress, Sharina Hudson, gave birth to a child earlier this year. Williams filed for divorce in April 2019.

Wendy Williams says she ‘wants to be pampered’ not ‘changing pampers’

Earlier this month, Williams stopped by The View and discussed the divorce. She told the panelists and audience: “Infidelity is one thing, a full baby is a whole other topic. A baby! I’m not changing pampers, I want to be pampered.”

She continued: “From my mother, I’ve learned how to make lemons into lemonade in life. What am I supposed to do? Sit in the house and cry?”

Williams also shared that she is happy to be continuing her career. “That’s why I’m going into season 11 and he’s changing pampers,” the talk show host said.

However, despite throwing shades at Hunter, she still maintained that he is not a bad person. It is just that the circumstances surrounding their relationship are not the same as before.

“Big Kevin, he’s not a bad man,” Williams noted, “but you just can’t throw away 25 years then start talking recklessly about the other person… I chose him and he chose me. That’s the way it is. People change and it’s now time for me to move on with my life.”

Is Wendy Williams dating anyone after breaking up with Kevin Hunter?

It is clear that Williams is leaving the past behind and looking forward to the future.

Shortly after she announced her divorce, reports began surfacing of Williams with a new man: 27-year-old Marc Tomblin. However, Williams recently shared that she and Tomblin never had a serious relationship, and she’s currently seeing “many men.”

In any case, Williams is a confident woman who knows what she wants, so she has several criteria for anyone who wants to be her next beau. On a recent episode of Late Night with Seth Myers, Williams revealed that she definitely wants to get married again and is looking for someone who is on the same page. Williams also wants men who are at least 48 years old and does not have young children.

“I’m not dealing with a five-year-old calling me mommy,” Williams said. “Freshman year in high school, help them with homework. Get out of here with that!”

But even if a man does not come into her life, Williams is still enjoying what she has at the moment.

“It’s a new life, and it feels good, you know?” she said of her post-divorce bliss. “I just turned 55, and I feel like I’m 25 most of the time. I feel like I’m in college only with a paycheck.”
