Wendy Williams Says She’s Dating ‘Many Men’ Amid Divorce
Wendy Williams has started to move on after filing for divorce from her husband, Kevin Hunter, whom she was married to for nearly 22 years.
About five months after submitting divorce documents, the 55-year-old television personality is beginning to date again — but she’s not just seeing one person. Williams revealed in a new interview that she’s actually dating “many men.”
Inside Williams’ romantic life
The TV star opened up about her new life as a bachelorette in a Sept. 8 interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. She told the host that she’s currently dating “many men,” including a doctor that she raved about on her eponymous talk show on July 8.
“I am not going to say one more word. You’re not going to blow this for me. But he’s been married; his kids are in their 20s. And yes, he’s black. I know you’re wondering,” she previously said of the doctor (via People).
Williams also told Cohen the age range of men she’d ever date, saying, “The youngest would be, like, 48. The oldest would be 65.”
She added that she would not date men shorter than “five feet eight [inches].”
Williams told Cohen that she’s doing better than ever
In another part of the interview, that television personality said that she’s in love with the woman she’s becoming and happier than ever. She’s still hosting her world-famous show, and she’s even gearing up to release her own biopic.
It’s all definitely a turn in direction for Williams, who admitted in March that she’d checked into a sober house. The admission came amid rumors that Hunter had fathered a child with his alleged mistress.
“I’d done my detective work. I knew what was about to happen, and I was like, ‘Let me go someplace where you’re not allowed to have the whole bottle of wine,’” Williams recalled to The New York Times Magazine of her decision to check into the living facility. “When you see your husband’s mistress with a burgeoning belly and you’re a blabbermouth on TV with a successful show, you know what’s about to happen. I needed to go someplace quiet.”
Despite their issues, Williams has made it clear that she won’t ever speak ill of Hunter in public. “He will always be my family, because we have a 19-year-old son [Hunter Jr.], and we were together for 25 years and married for 21. But there was no vacillating. I’m out. That’s all I can say. People want me to hate and scream and talk. I won’t,” she added to the magazine.
Is there a chance that Williams and Hunter will reconcile?
According to the host, there’s absolutely no chance that she and Hunter will get back together. When asked this question on SiriusXM’s The Karen Hunter Show back in July, Williams replied with a stern, “No.”
“My diaper-changing days are over,” she added on her show back in April (via E! News).
