Wendy Williams Shuts Down Rumors About Her and Will Da Boss: ‘I Do Not Have A Boyfriend — That’s It’
Wendy Williams has been battling constant dating rumors ever since she filed for divorce from her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, in spring 2019. The talk show host’s ex reportedly had a love child with his mistress of more than a decade, and it was finally enough for Williams to end the marriage. But now, she’s constantly having to speak out about rumors regarding her dating life.
Williams filed for divorce after her ex-husband allegedly fathered a child with a mistress
There had been rumors for years that Williams’ then-husband, Kevin Hunter, was having an affair. Still, Williams stood by their husband’s side; they spent 25 years together. But in spring 2019, The Wendy Williams Show host finally filed for divorce from Hunter, who also happened to be her show’s executive producer. The reason? Hunter had allegedly fathered a child with his longtime mistress.
“Infidelity is one thing; a full baby is a whole other topic,” Williams said on The View. Williams noted that she refused to speak badly about her ex, since the two share a teenage son together.
Williams has denounced dating rumors several times
Once Williams filed for divorce, she didn’t waste much time living her best life. But that doesn’t mean she was in a rush to start a relationship. The talk show host was spotted out several times, and she was open with her viewers that she had been spending her nights having fun with new people. But still, she noted on multiple occasions that she was not in any kind of serious relationship. And Williams was recently caught up in more dating rumors after she was spotted enjoying a night out with a well-known jeweler.
Williams recently cleared the air after she was spotted with Will Da Boss
In mid-February, Williams was spotted spending time with someone who goes by the name Will Da Boss. His real name is William Shelby, and he’s a celebrity jeweler who is well-known among today’s most popular musicians. Da Boss has reportedly created pieces for A-list clients such as Drake and 50 Cent.
On Monday, Feb. 24, Williams took to her show to denounce, once again, the rumors that she was in a relationship. She made it clear that she and Da Boss are just friends. “I do not have a boyfriend; that’s it,” Williams told viewers on her show. The audience let out a massive applause.
She’s still picking up the pieces after a difficult year
2019 was a tough year for Williams, but she has come out strong. Early last year, right around the time Williams filed for divorce, she announced that she had been living in a sober house. (Williams has been open about her past struggles with cocaine addiction.) Plus, with everything going on with her marriage, she definitely had a few obstacles to overcome.
Though she’s a strong woman, it hasn’t been long since all of that was revealed, and she’s likely still figuring out a new normal and getting her life in order since opening up about those two major challenges.
