What Alex Rodriguez Did For Jennifer Lopez When She Broke Down on Tour
Jennifer Lopez has apparently had some tough times on the road while traveling for her “It’s My Party” tour, but it appears that her fiancé Alex Rodriguez has been there every step of the way.
On July 6, Lopez shared a glimpse into her tour life through a YouTube video titled, “It’s My Party Tour Diary: Volume One,” in which she broke down when a show turned out worse than she expected. But Rodriguez was right there consoling her, making it all better.
What Alex Rodriguez did
First, Lopez told him that she had a “tough” show, explaining that she hit herself on the face and started bleeding.
“It was the best show I’ve seen so far,” he responded, hugging and comforting Lopez. “It was Saturday night in Vegas and you guys killed it! And you showed that you’re a champion, baby. [You were] down and you still came back up and had the best show so far… Every time I see the show, they keep getting better and better and better.”
But her feelings got the best of her and Lopez became emotional. “I’m not happy with myself,” she continued, tearing up.
“You don’t see how great you are. You really have no idea,” Rodriguez replied as she broke down. “This threw you off a bit?”
“Yeah, I felt dizzy. I don’t even know what I’m doing. And I would miss things, and I’m like, ‘Why am I messing them up?’… Like one step here or things that I never forget. I don’t forget anything!” she says.
Rodriguez continues to console her, telling Lopez, “Baby, nobody’s looking at steps. People are looking at how beautiful you look and how great you sound.”
Um, can you say #RelationshipGoals?
She supports him, too
When she’s not supporting the former professional baseball player at events, she’s pushing him to go harder in the gym. “We just support each other,” Lopez told Us Weekly back in February. “It’s just how we do it.”
She added to SiriusXM earlier this year that they both strive to do their absolute best in their careers, and work hard every day in order to meet their goals. So it’s understandable why Lopez was so hard on herself about that tour stop.
But it’s been fun, too. In February, the “Get Right” singer paid tribute to their two-year relationship on Instagram, writing that it’s been nothing but fun, adventures, true friendship, and “so much love.”
They’re perfect together
Lopez has said that she was skeptical of their relationship in the beginning because things seemed too perfect, too soon. But it became clear about a year into the relationship that he wasn’t playing around and that she wanted to marry him.
Rodriguez made things official in March, proposing during a getaway to the Bahamas with a massive, squint-inducing sparkler. But he’s not just her fiancé — he’s clearly her No. 1 fan. It can’t get much sweeter than that.
