Although Kylie Jenner is one of the most famous and most watched people in the world, she surprised thousands of people when, in February 2018, she revealed that she had given birth to a baby girl. While many people had speculated that Jenner was expecting a baby with her new boyfriend, rapper Travis Scott, she never confirmed or denied the news, and in fact, began shunning the spotlight entirely.

Since the birth of her daughter, Stormi Webster, Jenner’s business empire has continued to grow, but she has been open about the fact that she still puts family first and would eventually like to give Stormi a sibling.

How did Jenner manage to keep her pregnancy a secret?

Jenner is renowned for loving the attention of the public and the media and regularly interacts with her fans via social media. She is also well-known for favoring body-flaunting clothing and frequently posts images of herself in scanty outfits. During the time of her rumored pregnancy, in late 2017 and early 2018, she avoided both of those things and rarely stepped out at all. 

On her social media accounts, she stopped posting full body shots, except for the occasional throwback photo. In addition, there was that series of notorious Calvin Klein advertisements, where Jenner posed with the rest of her sisters in Calvin Klein underwear. However, while the rest of the Kardashians stripped down to their bare skin, leaving little to the imagination, Kylie Jenner was always strategically wearing a blanket or hiding her stomach behind one of her sisters. While the images didn’t confirm the pregnancy outright, they did little to quiet the rumors, and fans started to really question if Jenner was pregnant, why she would keep it a secret.

Of course, the world now knows that Jenner was pregnant, ultimately giving birth in the spring of 2018. She posted an adorable video to her Instagram that confirmed the birth and also detailed her reasons for not letting her fans in on her big news. Jenner claimed that she wanted to prepare for the “role of a lifetime” in a stress-free way to protect the health of her baby, and that meant taking the pregnancy journey completely off camera. 

What other baby names does Jenner like?

Ever since welcoming baby Stormi Webster, there has been rampant speculation that Kylie Jenner is trying for a second baby with boyfriend Travis Scott. While Jenner hasn’t confirmed any baby news (and based on how she handled her first pregnancy, isn’t likely to), reports say that while Jenner isn’t pregnant, she’s probably already planning for the next one.

Her sister, famed model Kendall Jenner, also recently spoke out and said that she didn’t think Jenner was pregnant, but that she and Scott are really into each other. Jenner herself opened up during an Instagram live video and shared with her millions of followers some of her favorite baby names besides Stormi.

She named one of her favorites as the old-fashioned name Rose and said that was the name she almost gave her daughter but opted for Stormi at the very last moment. She also said that she had another favorite name that she wasn’t quite ready to share, but that it was a really “weird” one that she loved – the only reason she didn’t choose it for Stormi was that it just didn’t seem to fit her daughter’s personality.
