What Danielle Jonas Thought of Kevin When She First Met Him
The Jonas Brothers are still on a high note from their “Happiness Begins” album and tour, continually playing to sold-out crowds. Unfortunately, the three married Jo Bros have to spend time away from their wives, but find a way to connect while on the road.
Kevin, who is the oldest of the Jonas men and has the most experience in the marital realm, is closing in on ten years of wedded bliss to wife Danielle. As she recalled, it was due to his persistence that the two are together today.
The couple is getting ready to celebrate a decade of marriage, leaving fans to wonder how they will commemorate the special day on social media. Last year, Kevin posted a loving tribute to Danielle on Instagram in honor of their ninth anniversary.
“I can’t believe I have been lucky enough to call you my wife and best friend for 9 years. It feels like yesterday waiting at the end of an isle on a snow filled day in NY,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a stunning pic of his bride last December. “The excitement and anticipation was taking over knowing I had found the love of my life and getting the opportunity to be the best version of myself for you every single day. I love you @daniellejonas to the moon and back. Happy anniversary!”
Though the Jo Bros are now legendary, the trio wasn’t in many headlines at the time of Kevin and Danielle’s initial introduction. According to Danielle, who was then Danielle Deleasa, she wasn’t aware of Kevin’s celebrity status when they first crossed paths in 2007. “I didn’t know who the Jonas Brothers were,” she said.
Kevin revealed that when he first met Danielle, the Jonas Brothers had just started to catch on. “At the time, it was early enough in our career that we weren’t really in a place where people were coming up to us,” he said. “Dani and I met in May 2007 and that was before the Hannah Montana episode, before our TV show, and before all of it happened with Disney. Then things started to change with the Jonas Brothers, but it was not anywhere near what it was about to become.”
Something about her hair …
The young couple met while vacationing with their families in the Bahamas in May 2007. Their first meeting was brief, but Kevin was immediately smitten. “When I first met her, it was a quick interaction. When I saw her the next day, I noticed she had a flower in her hair and it was all done up and pretty, and I thought, ‘Gosh, every time I see Danielle, her hair looks so pretty, it’s like someone did it,’” he recalled in 2012, according to PR.com. “And she was the one who always did it. It just looked like she always took care of herself. She always presented herself in a good way, and that just really attracted me. It was an attraction at first sight.”
While charmed by the young Jonas, Danielle’s first thought was to move on due to their geographical distance. “He lived in LA, and I was on family vacation,” she said of Kevin. “I thought, I’m never going to see this kid again, so why would I spend time away from my family while we’re on vacation? I was like, ‘why should I waste my time?’”
Kevin admitted he initiated the chase. “I was the one that was pursuing her most of the time and I didn’t want her out of my sight. She actually ran away twice,” he said.
Despite her hesitance, Kevin was able to get Danielle’s phone number from her sister and didn’t waste any time pursuing her. “You know how you’re supposed to meet somebody and call like two or three days later? Well, I cyberstalked her after we met and cyberstalked to see what flight she was going to be on coming home,” Kevin revealed to Glamour. “Then I called her the minute she landed. That might have been a little overboard, but I just went for it.”
Now celebrating almost 10 years of marriage with two adorable daughters, Kevin was clearly smart to trust his instincts!
