What Did Kendall Jenner Learn From Watching Her Sisters Date?
Kendall Jenner is one of the youngest sisters in the Kardashian-Jenner clan. When Keeping Up with the Kardashian premiered and her family shot into stardom, Kendall was only 12 years old while Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe were all in their 20s.
Having sisters who are more than 10 years older reportedly comes with a lot of advantages for Kendall Jenner. She has been able to watch her fellow family members go through their own lives and learn from some of their mistakes, especially when it comes to dating.
So what has Kendall managed to learn from her sisters over the years?
Kendall Jenner is the ‘black sheep’ of her family
As Kendall Jenner grew up in front of the camera, it became obvious to many people that she was quite different from the rest of her sisters.
For example, Kendall is more quiet and reserved while some of her sisters are more talkative and outgoing. Because of this, there was even a period of time when she would cry because she had a lot less friends than her younger sister, Kylie.
Kendall Jenner also struggled with accepting her body. Unlike her curvier sisters, Kendall was tall and skinny, which she did not like in the beginning.
“They have boobs and I don’t have boobs,” she shared. “Growing up being this little twiggy girl, I saw my sisters and always thought, ‘Oh no am I supposed to be more sexy like them?'”
However, Kendall has learned to become more comfortable with her body over time. After all, being tall and skinny has helped her carve out an extremely successful modeling career.
Kendall Jenner has learned from her sisters to keep her love life private
Even though Kendall is not like her sister in several ways, there are still many things she can draw from their knowledge and experiences.
Speaking to Vogue, Kendall shared that, when it comes to romance and relationships, she has learned from watching her sisters that it’s better to keep this part of herself private.
“I got a glimpse of how my sisters dealt with [attention] and it’s cool to learn from that,” Kendall said. “For me, a lot of things are very special and very sacred, like my friends and relationships, and I personally think that bringing things into the public makes everything so much messier.”
Kendall went on to note that, like many other young people who date, she might get into relationships that are not meant to last. As such, it doesn’t make sense to her to publicize such short term flings if they end up fizzling out in the near future.
“A relationship is only meant to be between two people, and the second you make it the world’s business is when it starts messing with the two people mentally. Like once everyone is let in, you’re letting all these opinions into your relationships, and I don’t think that’s fair.”
Kendall Jenner recently confirmed a relationship for the first time
True to her words, Kendall Jenner has often kept her lips sealed shut about her love life. In the past, she has been linked to Harry Styles, A$AP Rocky, and Anwar Hadid, though they were all speculations and Kendall herself never revealed anything.
However, the 23-year-old recently broke this tradition by actually confirming a relationship for the first time.
On The Ellen DeGeneres Show in February 2019, Kendall shared that she has been seeing basketball player Ben Simmons “for a bit now,” though she did not say much else.
Even though her sisters all have children now, Kendall is not rushing into anything. She told Vogue: “…You think that you have to be in a certain place [by a certain age] when you don’t have to be. Everyone has their own path and their own way of letting the cards fall.”
Sadly, headlines are just starting to hit that Kendall and Ben are currently taking a break. A source tells People that “the relationship ran its course” and Kendall is “spending time with her friends and back to being in fun mode.”
