What Did the Cast of ‘Southern Charm’ Wish They Didn’t Do In Front of Patricia Altschul
Patricia Altschul is the unofficial grande dame of culture, taste, and elegance on Bravo’s Southern Charm. The high society maven often hosts lavish dinner parties for the cast at her home, which means knowing proper etiquette is imperative.
Because the cast considers Altschul to be Charleston royalty, they know that missteps or using poor manners are often noticed by the show’s matriarch. Bravo decided to have some fun with this and asked some of the cast what they wished they would have never done in front of Altschul.
While most of the cast can cite specific instances, some claim to have a clean slate when it comes to their manners. But even Altschul says there are worse things. “Oh come on… they’ve been worse things on Southern Charm,” she wrote on Instagram.
He wishes she didn’t see him naked
From out of the gate, Austen Kroll says one of the first things Altschul saw was, “his ass.” But then he also adds he wasn’t thrilled he was filmed waking up in bed with Chelsea Meissner.
Indeed, Kroll was all about Meissner when he was first introduced to Southern Charm audiences. For an entire season, Kroll and Meissner played relationship chicken. They dated, but both acted like they didn’t want to be exclusive–even though deep down perhaps they really did.
But eventually, they parted ways. This season, Kroll has a new love and their relationship is featured on the show. Like when he dated Meissner, Shep Rose has some opinions about Kroll’s new relationship and likely doesn’t keep his opinions to himself.
They may not have had the best manners
A few of the Southern Charm ladies regretted a few things they did at Altschul’s home. Naomie Olindo says she remembers flipping off Liz Madison at one of her parties.
Cameran Eubanks says dinner parties at Altschul’s house have been a challenge when she’s experienced a little excess gas. “There have been times I’ve been at her table and I’ve had to belch,” Eubanks recounts. “Or had French-tipped fingernails, which she thinks only whores and prostitutes wear.”
Then there is Kathryn Dennis who has been on a rollercoaster ride with Altschul. She pretty much says just about everything she wishes Altschul never saw. Dennis had a tumultuous relationship with Thomas Ravenel, who is the father of her two children. But also feuded heavily with Altschul’s son, Whitney Sudler-Smith. But that’s all water under the bridge as Sudler-Smith and Altschul have kissed and made up.
He doesn’t think he’s done anything too crazy on-camera
Rose doesn’t think any of his on-camera behavior would make Altschul shudder. “Nothing really on camera,” Rose says. “But off camera almost everything.”
New business partner Craig Conover says he wishes Altshul never saw his former “work ethic.” Conover trying to partner with Altschul on a pillow project last season.
But when Conover missed his deadline he was kicked to the curb. Today, however, that is all in the past. Not only are they moving forward with a pillow line, but Conover also has his own company, Sewing Down South. What a difference a year makes!
