What Every Royal Family Member Really Thinks About Meghan Markle
Meghan Markle seems to be loved by all. It didn’t take long after her introduction as Prince Harry’s girlfriend for an engagement and royal wedding to be announced.
However, what does each member of the royal family actually feel about Markle? From Camilla Parker Bowles (page 5) to Queen Elizabeth (page 6), this is where Markle stands with the royal family.
1. Kate Middleton
The duchess has certainly seemed to have befriended Markle, but she’s also taken on a “mentor” role for royal training — which she doesn’t mind at all. According to body language expert Patti Wood, it’s clear that “Meghan is very conscious about matching and mirroring Kate.”
However, “It seems that Kate is totally fine with this, which indicates that they have a connection and are already comfortable with one another.”
They’ve already proven to have a lot in common, so we aren’t surprised to learn that they’re on the path to becoming sister-friends.

2. Prince William
Prince William isn’t just happy for his brother’s marriage to Markle — he seems to have genuinely connected with Markle, as well. Upon arriving at an Anzac Day Service in April 2018, William broke some royal protocol for his sister-in-law.
He greeted Markle with a sweet kiss on the cheek, which is typically unseen for the royal family.

3. Prince Philip
It didn’t take long for Markle to get on Prince Philip’s good side. According to Elle, by Markle simply taking an interest in Philip’s life, her efforts went a long way. “Meghan asked a lot of questions, about Philip’s side of the family and his connection to Greece.”
Appreciating that “she was very bold,” Express confirmed, “The Duke of Edinburgh really got on with her.”

4. Prince Charles
Prince Charles hasn’t spoken out much about Markle, but his announcement of Harry and Markle’s engagement was more than enough proof that he’s taken a liking to her.
He couldn’t contain his excitement on Twitter, sharing, that he and his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, were “thrilled.” He added, “We’re both thrilled. We hope they’ll be very happy indeed.”
He then filled in for her father walking her down the aisle at the wedding, proving that he was happy to take on a parental role in her life.
Next: She paid Markle a huge compliment.
5. Camilla Parker Bowles
Camilla Parker Bowles couldn’t have paid Markle a bigger compliment. Upon the announcement of Harry and Markle’s engagement, Bowles raved, “Absolutely thrilled — it’s brilliant. And, as I said, America’s loss is our gain. We’re all absolutely delighted.”
She added, “As you can see, they’re so happy. And sometimes, in a climate where we’re surrounded by a lot of bad news, it’s a real joy to have a bit of good news for once. And, as I said before, we’re delighted.”

6. Queen Elizabeth
Queen Elizabeth’s approval of Harry’s marriage is a clear sign that she likes Markle. However, royal expert Katie Nicholl dug deeper into how the queen really feels. Nicholl spilled to ET:
One of the things I was really keen to trying to get to the bottom of in the book was how the Queen really felt about Meghan. She’s filmed some pretty racy sex scenes that we’ve all seen in Suits. Everything from being a divorcee to being a bit older than Prince Harry, to coming from a dual heritage family, you might wonder if the Queen being of a certain generation and, of course, being the queen might have been at all concerned.
Nicholl luckily has sources who claim “[Elizabeth] really felt from the outset that Meghan was a positive person in Prince Harry’s life.” They noted, “She made him very happy and that she was really very supportive.”

7. The queen’s corgis
Even the queen’s corgis have given Markle their official approval. In Markle and Harry’s post-engagement interview, Harry revealed just how much Elizabeth’s corgis took to Markle. However, that hasn’t exactly been his experience with the royal pups.
“The corgis took to you straight away,” Harry said. “For the last 33 years, I’ve been barked at, and this one walks in, absolutely nothing, just wagging tails.”
Markle added, “Just laying on my feet during tea, it was very sweet.”
