This weekend was one for the books. For the first time ever, the massive rap festival Rolling Loud went down in New York, where over 100 acts performed over a two-day span, including ASAP Rocky, Meek Mill, and Lil Uzi Vert.
But what really stood out was Travis Scott’s performance. As usual, the ASTROWORLD rapper put on a raging, off-the-wall show. But sadly, it didn’t go so well. Scott injured himself while performing and likely had to seek medical attention later on.
What happened to Travis Scott at Rolling Loud?
On Oct. 12, Scott hit the stage and delivered a career-spanning performance, singing songs like “HIGHEST IN THE ROOM” and 2 Chainz’s “4 AM,” on which he has a verse.
While performing “BUTTERFLY EFFECT,” Scott jumped and landed wrong. He crashed on the stage and immediately grabbed his leg, indicating that he’d injured himself. However, Scott quickly pulled himself together and continued his set.
“I ain’t gonna lie, I think I just broke my knee right now. But this show cannot stop just yet,” he said.
Blog HighSnobiety reports that Scott ended his performance with “SICKO MODE” from his Grammy-nominated album, SICKOMODE (2018). As he closed the set, he told the crowd, “Nothing can ever stop this show.”
It’s a sentiment that he stands by. For example, while performing at Rolling Loud in 2017, Scott experienced sound issues and still kept going for his fans.
The apparent injury could not have come at a worse time
If you haven’t seen all the headlines, Scott is dealing with a lot at the moment. He’s reportedly under pressure to put out new music, and he recently split from Kylie Jenner, with whom he shares a daughter, Stormi.
Sources allege that Jenner ended their two-year relationship because she struggled to trust Scott after he became the subject of cheating rumors back in February. In case you missed it, Jenner reportedly confronted Scott about evidence of infidelity in his phone at the time, which he denied. They allegedly broke up but quickly reconciled.
“The couple has been hot and cold since their last breakup, and haven’t been able to fully get on the same page again,” a source added to Entertainment Tonight on Oct. 2. “They are both extremely busy with different schedules and since Kylie found out about Travis messaging another girl on Instagram, the rebuilding of trust has been hard.”
But that reportedly wasn’t their only issue. Sources also claim that they had disagreements over whether they would have another baby. However, Jenner has suggested otherwise, saying in an Oct. 11 Instagram post that she is currently not ready to have another child.
But that’s not to say that they won’t reconcile in the future.
“Although they aren’t together now, they’re both open to getting back together in the future,” the Entertainment Tonight source added. “Above all, Kylie and Travis know their priority will and always has been Stormi.”
Sounds good to us. We wish them the best and Scott a speedy recovery.
