What Is Blac Chyna’s Real Name and Why Is She Famous?

In today’s world, many celebrities seem to be famous for no real reason at all. The public knows their names but often can’t even place how or why they first heard of them. Such is the case with Blac Chyna, a woman who first popped up on the world’s radar a few years ago, as the girlfriend of Rob Kardashian.

In short order, Chyna catapulted to reality show stardom and now is involved in many different projects. Let’s break down how Chyna first became famous and what she’s doing these days.

Blac Chyna’s real name is Angela White. She was born in 1988 and actually attended college in Miami, where she began a career as an exotic dancer in order to help pay for her school tuition.

She bounced between several different stage names before ultimately settling on the name Blac Chyna. Realizing that she could make more money as a stripper than what she initially anticipated, and finding herself exhausted from working all night and being at school all day, Chyna decided to pursue stripping and modeling and dropped out of school.

She became popular in the music video community and was even cast as a stunt double for Nicki Minaj in the music video “Monster” by Kanye West. Around the same time, Chyna’s modeling career took off and she started appearing in magazines, gaining a reputation for her exotic looks and curvy figure.

In 2011, Chyna started dating the rapper Tyga. They had a son, born in 2012 before they split up in 2014. It was widely reported that Tyga’s romance with the teenage Kylie Jenner is what caused the split.

Chyna was in a relationship with Rob Kardashian

After her split from Tyga, Chyna began dating Rob Kardashian, Kylie Jenner’s older brother, and the one male Kardashian sibling. Their relationship got a lot of bad press, with many questioning what drew the odd couple together in the first place.

In an interview with Wendy Williams, Chyna admitted that she had a real connection with Kardashian, and felt compelled to help the overweight reality star try to get healthier by exercising and eating right.

Shortly after Chyna and Kardashian got together, they started appearing in their own reality show, Rob & Chyna. The couple’s relationship, as chronicled on the show, was highly volatile, full of fighting and shouting.

Following the birth of their daughter Dream in late 2016, the couple called it quits and the reality show was canceled for good. But Blac Chyna had no intention of staying out of the limelight permanently.

Blac Chyna is heading back to reality television

In addition to her modeling and reality show projects, Blac Chyna also has her own brand of eyelash products, which she launched in 2014. Chyna is very popular on Instagram, with over 15 million followers who are happy to buy her sponsored products and offer support. She’s also coming back to the small screen in a new reality show for the Zeus network, called The Real Blac Chyna.

The streaming service will release the series sometime in the summer of 2019 and will be an inside look at Blac Chyna’s life, including her life as a mother and businesswoman.

Chyna also revealed that the show will offer an intimate look at her relationships with her famous exes, including Tyga and Rob Kardashian. No word yet on whether or not Kardashian could actually appear on the reality show, but due to the ongoing legal issues between them, it seems rather unlikely.

For better or for worse, Blac Chyna is a certified celebrity — and has the fanbase to prove it.
