What Is Jennifer Lopez’s Daily Routine?
The 49-year-old who gets better with age has a pretty normal day considering she’s a global superstar. Keep reading to learn what Jennifer Lopez does during the course of one day.
In a People interview, Lopez gave a breakdown of her day, starting with when she wakes up. Albeit, this was before she started dating Alex Rodriguez. But her overall routine probably hasn’t change much since she started dating the former baseball player.
Lopez’s kids, twins Emmy and Max, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony, act like an alarm clock.
“The kids come in between 6:15 and 6:45 a.m. Then we get ready for school [or] they’ll say, ‘We want you to make us breakfast!’”
Sometimes, Lopez will be out of the house before the kids wake up.
She fuels up for a workout
Once the kids are off to school, Lopez drinks a protein shake by BodyLab, a brand she teamed up with, called the BodyLab TastyShake. It’s a whey protein-based powder you can mix with water or add to a smoothie.
Then she puts her famous body to work.
“My workout will be at least an hour to an hour and 15 minutes of different stuff,” Lopez told People.
She’s known for mixing up her workouts. Lopez has two personal trainers, according to Cosmopolitan.
“When I am in New York I work out with David Kirsch – he’s an amazing trainer. When I’m in LA, I work with Tracy Anderson. I like the balance that they both give me. They have two totally different approaches. I like switching it up with my body.”
After working out, there’s one thing J. Lo must do: “I always, always wash my face after a workout. That helps keep my pores clean and my skin feeling healthy.”
Lopez started meditating in 2015 when her schedule was extremely full. At the time she was doing acting, judging, and singing. She spends 20 minutes meditating in the morning and evening, according to Cosmopolitan. Lopez also doe affirmations.
Lopez puts makeup on
Lopez doesn’t put her makeup on at home. “I’m usually running off to a meeting of some sort,” Lopez told People. “I wind up doing my makeup in the car to save a lot of time.”
Next time you’re putting makeup on while you’re riding the subway or in the car, remind yourself that you and J. Lo have something in common.
Has dinner with family
Around 6:30 or 7 p.m. you’ll find Lopez sitting down for dinner with her children. “I read somewhere that if you have dinner with your kids, they’re less likely to do drugs!” Lopez told People. Lopez calls often refers to her kids as “coconuts” on social media.
Dinner is followed by an 8:30 p.m. bedtime. “They try to get me to read three or four books a night. I love that they love to read.”
Gets lots of sleep
Lopez doesn’t mess around when it comes to sleep. While we don’t know her exact bedtime, we’re guessing it’s not too long after her kids go to bed that she hits the sheets.
“Ideally I would love to get nine or 10 hours of sleep, but either way, I always make sure I get at least eight,” Lopez said.
