What Is Rob Kardashian’s Net Worth, and How Much Is He Paying Blac Chyna in Child Support?
In court documents, Kardashian says he stopped filming new episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians after his ex-fiancée obtained a domestic violence restraining order against him. Since he’s no longer a regular on the show, his income has dropped significantly. At the same time, Kardashian says Chyna’s income has grown. Now, he thinks she’s the one who should be paying him child support for their 2-year-old daughter Dream.
Kardashian pays $20,000 a month in child support
Kardashian and Chyna’s explosive, on-again, off-again relationship ended for good last year. In September 2017, the two agreed to share custody of Dream, and Rob consented to fork over $20,000 a month for child support. According to TMZ, some of that money was going to pay nannies.
The massive child support payment was partly due to Kardashian’s big income at the time, when he was earning $1 million a year from KUWTK. He might have also agreed to pay his ex the large support amount – which totals $240,000 a year — in order to gain more time with his daughter.
“[H]e could be overpaying to get more time with Dream which most fathers do. Most fathers get extorted for more money to get more time with their children and pay it gladly,” David Pisarra, a family law expert and divorce attorney, told Hollywood Life.
Why Kardashian says he can’t afford his child support payments
A year after agreeing to the $20,000 payments, Kardashian has gone to court requesting an adjustment. Since he’s stopped appearing regularly on episodes of KUWTK, his income has plunged, he says. Today, he gets just $50,000 per episode he appears in, The Blast reported, and his monthly income has fallen to less than $10,000.
Kardashian claims Chyna makes $60,000 per month and has a net worth of more than $1 million. Based on the new numbers, Kardashian’s lawyers say she should be paying him $2,864 a month in child support.
Chyna isn’t buying her ex’s claims of poverty. She thinks he deliberately withdrew from KUWTK and social media in order to get out of the agreed-upon payments.
“We believe Rob Kardashian has deliberately retreated from social media to reduce his income so that he can pay less child support,” Chyna’s lawyer Lisa Bloom said in a statement to E! News. “Poor little rich boy. What kind of father doesn’t want to support his own baby?”
Rob Kardashian is worth $10 million
In addition to his KUWTK earnings, the only Kardashian brother had his own short-lived reality show, Rob & Chyna. He finished second on the thirteenth season of Dancing with the Stars, for which he likely earned more than $200,000. He also owns the sock line Arthur George.
Since giving up his KUWTK payday, Kardashian’s net worth may have shrunk. But he might be fine with that. In his petition to reduce his child support, Kardashian says he’s done with reality TV and ready to move on with his life.
“It has been an extraordinarily difficult time for me emotionally and I have no desire to continue participating in the reality show,” he wrote. “I would like to maintain my privacy, try to recover from the emotional damage of the past several months, and explore other business ventures.”
