Born on October 16, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Bryce Harper showed great athletic promise early on in life. The 6’2″ tall, 230 pound outfielder decided to pursue his general equivalency diploma (GED) in his sophomore year of high school so he could be eligible for the amateur baseball draft in 2010. He was successful in his pursuits, and went on to continue his education at the College of Southern Nevada, which is part of the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC).

While at college, Harper not only broke the school’s previous home run record of 12 in a single season, but knocked it out of the ballpark with an incredible 31 personal home runs. For his feats, he won the 2010 SWAC Player of the Year, and the 2010 Golden Spikes Award. Harper went on to be selected as the first overall pick in the 2010 Major League Baseball draft by the Washington Nationals.

Nobody is certain yet where Bryce Harper will be going after an offseason trade. It is known that several teams are hoping to sign him for the upcoming season, but nobody has yet confirmed doing so.

Some sources state he may end up staying with the Washington Nationals if some contract negotiations take place. Other rumors state that he could be picked up by any of six MLB teams. These include the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Oakland Athletics, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, or New York Yankees.

Why is Bryce Harper being traded?

At the end of the 2018 season, Bryce Harper was offered a new contract by his current team, the Washington Nationals. The contract was worth $17.9 million and lasted only one season. Harper, however, declined the National’s offer and decided instead to test his luck in the market. This appears to have been a smart move on the MLB player’s behalf, as it opened up a bidding war that could result in as much as two to three times the $17.9 million he was originally offered.

What is Bryce Harper’s net worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Bryce Harper is worth approximately $25 million. Experts believe, however, that this net worth will grow considerably by the end of his baseball career. Since Harper is still only in his 20’s, with plenty of playing time left him, some even wonder if he might break overall baseball player net worth records.
