Holland first appeared as Spiderman in the 2016 film Captain America: Civil War. Holland then starred in Spiderman: Homecoming before appearing, most recently, in Avengers: Infinity War. Holland is set to star in a Spiderman led movie titled Spiderman: Far From Home and in the upcoming and highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame.
How much screen time Holland will have in Avengers: Endgame is unknown; however, considering the trailer for Far From Home has already been released, we can assume that he has not been permanently removed from the MCU as a result of “the snap.” Who is set to come back to life, so to speak, remains to be seen. However, Spiderman seems like a sure-fire bet.
What did Tom Holland do before ‘The Avengers?’
Tom Holland was born in Kingston upon Thames, London in 1996. His father, Dominic Holland, is a Perrier Award-winning comedian and writer. Though starting his education at Donhead, a Roman Catholic preparatory school, Holland went on to attend the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in 2012.
Holland soon started dancing for a hip-hop class in his hometown; Lynne Page, the famous choreographer who has worked with the likes of Stephen Sondheim and Kanye West, spotted Holland at a recital. Though he didn’t know it then, this would be the moment that forever changed his life.
After Page spotted him, Holland went on to make his West-End debut in Billy Elliot The Musical, as Billy’s best friend Michael; however, he later starred in the title role and received critical praise for his performance.
In 2015, Tom Holland would go on to star alongside Mark Rylance in the BBC series Wolf Hall. Holland also starred in The Impossible with Naomi Watts and Ewan Mcgregor in 2012, and In the Heart of the Sea in 2015. Holland appeared in his first MCU film and The Lost City of Z in the same year (2016).
Tom Holland’s upcoming projects
Tom Holland is set to star in several other movies in 2019 and 2020, in addition to Avengers: Endgame and Spiderman: Far From Home.
Tom Holland will appear in five films in 2020. So, if you’ve enjoyed watching Tom Holland on screen, buckle up for a few more blockbusters with this guy in a leading role.
According to IMDB, Tom Holland will appear in Uncharted, Cherry, Onward, The Devil of all Time, Chaos Walking, and The Voyage of Dr. Dolittle in 2020. He will also appear in Spies in Disguise later this year.
As for Onward and The Voyage of Dr. Dolittle, Holland will serve as a voice actor only. While we won’t get to see his face in these two, we will have several other opportunities to watch this man in action.
While the plot for several of these films has yet to be announced, The Devil of all Time will follow an odd group of characters from the end of World War II to the 1960s in rural southern Ohio and West Virginia, according to IMDb.
In Chaos Walking, Tom Holland will star as Todd Hewitt in a dystopian world without women, where all living creatures can hear each other’s thoughts, according to IMDb.
With several films on the horizon, all of which will likely offer unique and varying plots (and fall within different genres), Tom Holland should not have to worry about getting typecast as a comedic action hero.
