What Is Wendy Williams’ Morning Routine?

Wendy Williams is well-known for her opinionated attitude about everything from celebrity gossip to sensible shoes. The daytime talk show host has been entertaining fans for close to two decades, first as a radio DJ and then as the leader of the hugely successful The Wendy Williams Show.

It’s also no secret the candid host went through a dramatic weight loss transformation a few years ago, debuting a trimmer figure. For many, the morning is the most rushed time of the day, which can make it difficult to make good food choices. Williams sat down in an interview not too long ago in order to break down her morning routine. 

What does Wendy Williams eat in the morning?

Like a lot of working moms all around the world, Williams starts her day much earlier than the rest of her household. Williams admitted that she wakes up at around 5:30 a.m. in order to get a calm start to the day, while her husband, Kevin Hunter, and their son, Kevin Hunter, Jr., are still sound asleep. Williams uses this time to reflect on the upcoming day, moisturize, and take her vitamins and supplements.

She also has a balanced approach to breakfast foods. Williams is well known as a foodie on her show and loves to taste test the concoctions her celebrity chef guests come up with, but in daily life, Williams chooses simple, healthy foods. In her interview, Williams stated that she usually waits until she gets to the office to finish the rest of her morning routine. The office would be The Wendy Williams Show Set, where she prepares for the day’s show and gets glammed up by her expert team of stylists and makeup artists.

For breakfast, Williams chooses green juice shots, to make sure that she gets her daily serving of vegetables. Following her juice shots, Williams will opt for either a simple bowl of oatmeal with fruit or a hearty breakfast sandwich, made meatless to suit her lifestyle. While it can be easy to reach for a pastry or sweet treat in the morning, Wendy Williams knows that healthy is best when it comes to the most important meal of the day. 

Williams loves alternative medicine

Wendy Williams has struggled with Graves disease for a number of years. Graves disease is an autoimmune disorder that attacks the thyroid gland and can cause a wide range of symptoms, including anxiety, forgetfulness, trouble sleeping, and bulging eyes. Williams helps to treat her Graves disease by relying on both traditional doctors, including her longtime friend Dr. Oz, and alternative medicine.

Williams always starts her day by taking a “fistful of pills,” meaning her vitamins and supplements. They help keep her balanced and feeling her best. Of course, she always washes them down with lots of water, which help to keep her properly hydrated as well. As for her exercise routine, Williams is a creature of habit and knows what she likes. To break a sweat, Wendy Williams turns to Pilates, which works to keep the body limber and toned through stretching exercises. Williams prefers to work with a trainer rather than participate in the traditional class setting, but whatever she’s doing, it clearly works – she revealed that she lost 50 pounds by following the healthy lifestyle around the time she turned 50.

The chatty host is still dealing with health struggles – she recently spoke out on her show, revealing that she is living in a sober house in order to cope with her ongoing addiction issues. Hopefully, her commitment to healthy habits (including her dedication to daily Pilates) will help keep her on the road to recovery.
