The duo have discussed their friendship on many occasions but what is it that makes theirs so different from everyone else’s?

Their friendship is more like sisterly love

Ever since their first time meeting during a reading of for Game of Thrones, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner instantly became friends and knew these two actresses had definite chemistry.

“I thought Sophie was the coolest thing I’d ever seen,” Maisie shared with Rolling Stone. “I get why they do chemistry reads, because when it’s right, it’s so right. Like, we’re best friends. And they could see that all those years ago, and it must have been real magic watching these two girls have the best time together.”

Though they play sisters in GoT, Williams and Turner are basically sisters in real life.

They do everything together when they are not on set filming. From dressing up the same for Halloween to getting matching tattoos, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams friendship will still be going strong many years from now.

They understand having to maintain a work/life balance

Working with your best friend is never easy and Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams realized that pretty early on.

Though they played sisters and have not had a single scene together, Williams and Turner have still had to establish the right times to be serious around each other on set.

“We’re a nightmare to work with,” Turner said. “If you’re working with your best friend, you will never get any work done, ever. Anytime we tried to be serious about anything, it’s just the hardest thing in the world. I think they really regretted putting us in scenes together. It was difficult.”

Even though they have to be serious when it comes to filming, once the cameras stop rolling, the two actresses are back to being fun and goofy.

Turner and Williams support each other through the good and the bad

Just like any best friends, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams support each other in pretty much everything.

Not only are they each other’s biggest cheerleaders on the set of GoT, they have also established a bond that can not be easily broken by bad times.

In a recent interview with  Glamour UK, Williams revealed that Turner has been there for her in the darkest of times.

“Sophie knows too much about me to not be my friend,” she told Glamour. “I can’t tell you the amount of times Sophie said, ‘Go to therapy,’ before I actually did,” she continued. “She really helped me through some messy break-ups and some friend break-ups.”

Sophie and Maisie also have each other’s back no matter the circumstance. Even though Williams is only a year younger than Turner, the two look out for each other just like big and little sisters do.

“Maisie is definitely my protector and I’m hers, too,” Turner revealed. “I know if anything happened — especially if it was on ‘Game Of Thrones,’ which it never, ever would — she’d go crazy and protect me. … Maisie is my strong home.”

Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams have also helped each other during award shows and make sure they are camera ready every second they are on the red carpet.

In 2017, Turner was caught fixing Williams’ train on her dress before posing for a photo on the Golden Globes red carpet.

If that isn’t true friendship then we don’t know what is.
