What Other Projects Has the Cast of “Modern Family” Worked On?
We know them as the Dunphy family. We have watched them grow, fight, love each other, and everything in between throughout the seasons of Modern Family. Though it may feel like they are actually members of our own family, it’s about to be time to say goodbye to them for good.
As the cast heads into their final season, let’s take a look at some of the other projects that they have worked on both before and during their time as Dunphys.
Best known as the middle Dunphy child, Winter has dabbled in many forms of acting. In fact, she has made a name for herself by doing
She voiced Sofia in the popular children’s show Sofia the First that ran from 2012-2018.
In 2012 alone, she voiced characters in Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright, Sofia & Jake: Be Who You Wanna Be, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2, Abominable Christmas and Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess.
A source close to Winter told Hollywood Life that Winter is “excited, happy, scared, sad, and everywhere in between with the announcement that Modern Family is ending.”
Sarah Hyland plays the role of oldest sister Haley Dunphy on Modern Family but she was no newbie to the industry when she began in the role in 2009. Hyland has actually been working as an actress since she was 4 years old, doing commercials and voice-overs. In 1997, she appeared in her first film, Private Parts. She went on to be in The Object of My Affection in 1998, Falcone, Law & Order: Trial by Jury and The Audrey Hepburn Story.
In addition to being a talented actress, Hyland also studied voice, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and other forms of dance at the Lincoln Center.
Throughout her career, Hyland has dealt with a number of health issues. When she was 9 she was diagnosed with kidney dysplasia which means that her kidneys have not fully developed. In 2012, her father gave her one of his kidneys but her body rejected it in 2016. In 2017, her younger brother was able to offer her his kidney.
Hyland also has endometriosis and previously had an abdominal hernia. Somehow, she hasn’t let any of that stand in the way of her career.
Julie Bowen first broke into the acting world by appearing as the love interest in Happy Gilmore in 1996. She then moved on to television and landed roles in ER, Ed, and Boston Legal.
During her time as Claire Dunphy, she also acted in Horrible Bosses, Life of the Party, Children’s Hospital, and more.
She also did a bit of voice-over work, voicing characters such as Queen Ariana in Tangled: Before Ever After, Lil’ Dipper in Planes: Fire & Rescue, and Dr. Devon Albright in Scooby-Doo! Mecha Mutt Menace.
Ty Burrell had a few acting gigs before starring in the role of Phil Dunphy on Modern Family.
In his early career, he appeared in Black Hawk Down, Dawn of the Dead, and Law & Order. It wasn’t until the mid 2000s that he got into comedic acting. Once he made the switch, he appeared in sitcoms like Out of Practice, Back to You, and of course Modern Family.
You may have also seen Burrell on the big screen. He was in both The Incredible Hulk and National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
Tyrell has also done some voice-over work, including voicing characters in Finding Dory: Marine Life Interviews, Finding Dory, Storks, and Mr. Peabody & Sherman.
Perhaps one of the most famous members of the Modern Family cast, Sofia Vergara has certainly made a name for herself in the acting world.
Vergara first entered the entertainment
Since starring in Modern Family, Vergara’s fame has skyrocketed. She has appeared in a number of movies, as well as tv shows. She has one project that is set to release this year called Stano and is currently filming Koati.
